What 'ThePrick' does

Objective of Contest
Your objective is to out-perform 'ThePrick' each week. If he goes 4-0, no money changes hands. If he goes 3-1 +3.00, and you go 3-1 +3.01 or better, you will have beaten 'ThePrick' that week.

You must make 4 picks per week. If you make less than 4 picks, you will be unable to win a prize that week.

You must designate one pick as a "Best Bet", which is a 2-unit play.

This will be a good contest but the funding should be higher lets attract the books the players here shouldnt have concerns with a nickle with a 100 min balance after funding the nickle I mean we are here to play

Why not add an option, for those so inclined, to buy in for a couple of hundred for season ending prizes only? If 500 contestants throw in 200 bucks, that's 100K to divide among top finishers.

The 'problem' I'm seeing is that there are so many different types of players that it becomes tough to please everyone, or keep everyone interested. So if you're going to give away free points at the lower end, why not raise the stakes a little at the other end?

You could have three types of contestants, instead of two. Those playing for points, without a deposit. Those playing for cash, with a deposit. And a third group that plays for cash, but has also bought in for higher season ending prizes.

$50 can be in your account when you join or anytime before your first BeatThePrick play is off the board at game time.

If you don't make it you can still get it in before the following week.

But you are saying that every week someone new can enter the contest. I noticed that in the rules it doesn't say who is eligible for end of the year prizes. That means that someone can enter the last 4 weeks and go 4-0 on 16 total games and win the whole thing. I believe last year there was a requirement about a minimum amount of weeks to be eligible for season end prizes.

I may be overseeing this in the rules so maybe someone else can figure it out.

I'm trying to piece together everything but it appears to me that the latest you can deposit to be eligible for the prizes is the 5th week else you won't be able to win prizes because the 48 play minimum can't be fullfilled.

So after the 5th week no one should be allowed to sign in. Because everyone allowed to sign in after the 5th will automatically be only be playing for points hence diluting the cash prizes even more.
