        The call was questionable. If you watch the replay, it actually looks like the ball curved foul as it was crossing over the bag, and then swung around and landed fair past the bag.

          that's because he did make the right call.. it's a judgment call. it could have gone either way. we are talking millimeters here. might have been impossible to make right call.. too close.. if he calls it fair, philly mgr goes nuts and philly fans say ump cost them the game.. if he called it foul, which he did, florida fans say he cost them the game.. no win situation.

          from a former ump, you are always wrong no matter how close the call is.. someone will always be pissed. you can't win as an umpire.. toughest job around..

            Reasonable people can agree to disagree and that's what we're going to have to do here...

            I watched the play live. I thought the ball was fair. I've watched the replays. I still think the ball was fair.

            You can't convince me that the ball could have been foul when it went over/by the bag and then had enough english on it to land fair when it landed as close to the bag as it did.
