    Im not talking about the Emmitts or the Barry Sanders flyweights. I'm talking heavyweight division.

    Who would you bet your life on to pick up 36 inches on 4th and your life?

    Lets nominate some candiates;

    How about Eric Dickerson? Seriously! He was big, fast and powerful and could fall down for 2 yards. Ran hard and fell forward. Great speed too.

          I'd say Jerome Bettis for that situation.

            O.J. Anderson would be my selection John.

            That guy was a monster when it came to crossing that goal line.

                I'd take Dickerson in his prime over the bus 7 days a week and twice on suday.

                1984 L.A. Rams ED rushed for 2105 yards nearly a 6 yeard per average carry including 14's. These were not barry sanders kind of yards, he drug guys for over half those yards.

                But how about this cat: Earl Campbell? He was a tough and punishing runner also with great speed.

                  1 yard? Marion Motley. More than that? Jim Brown.

                      I wonderd how long it would take for Big Jim Brown's name to come up. Few RB's can simply run over defensive linemen like JB could.

                      BTW, I wondered why I put Emmitt Smith in the lightweight division. ES's chin strap was what 3 inches off the ground when he ran? He was great in short yardage.

                      I wouldnt blame someone for throwing Walter Payton in there on a sweep play. Or even Mercury Morris or OJ Simpson.

                        Marion Motley is before my time. I've seen old film clips and he was a load, but in the time I've been watching the NFL...It's Jim Brown for me.

                                I'd have to go with Payton, he could get it for you two ways. The sweep to the outside, or right up the gut as he was never afraid to try and run over people, and usually succeeded.

                                      A geat short yardage guy! He was also lucky to have the best center in history punching guys 5 yards off the ball. Stephens was his name i think?

                                            I'll probably take some shit for this lol, but give me 2002-2003 Zach Crockett in this situation over these big names. That guy was a beast in short yardage and he couldn't be stopped on the goal line.

                                                            Jim Brown, John Riggins or Earl Campbell.

                                                            I would pick myself or anyone else on this board if you gave me Bruce Matthews, Anthony Muñoz, Larry Allen, Forest Gregg and Jackie Slater on the offensive line.
