    Friend a small time book
My friend is a small time book and is worried that he's running out of money. Hes got about 12k at his disposal total. He has 3 people betting baseball with him and 2 of the 3 people are betting 15 games a week each( 30 total between the 2 bigger bettors) with each bet being about 400/275. The other guy bets 44/40 on about 5 different mlb games a day. Should he be worried about money?

Not if they aren't good. If they are good, then he may want to cut them loose.

All chalk bettors. The one bigger better was down about 2500 betting bball, since then up 3k in baseball. The other bigger better has been losing for about 6 weeks now.

The problem is the one guy can bet 800/500 on mlb games and he has done it once or twice. I guess hes just been getting lucky with the chalks.

If that bigger bettor goes on a tear (even over a course of a few weeks), 12k will not be enough.

I've heard in the past of some really small bookies just laying the action off at pinny or a reduced juice shop. They would give their players 20cent lines and pocket the difference. Sounds shady, but he always had the money to pay out when they won (and they would tip him as well).

12 k is not enough imo

needs to find at least 3 more customers unrelated to the other 3. this will help get him bets on both sides of at least a few games. needs to make it to football season when bettors come out of the woodwork to bet because everybody thinks they know something about football when actually nobody does.

Why doesn't he just limit their action for a few weeks till he has more clients to balance action or his handle is bigger

Your bud is the book (which means he's in charge) so tell him to set a limit if need be to survive. Only reason he goes broke is if he lets himself go broke.

Agree with Dirty and Dank, A limit might be they way to go, got to be a polititian on that call though 'cause feelings can/will get hurt. You see how people here talk about online books cutting limits, they get upset. Either you have lost and your like "bitoch was okay taking my money all year now this!" or "I'm kicking his ass and now he cuts me!"

You need to limit the players and you should be fine.

Too much gap between betting amounts.

Absolutely do not limit anyone. Just lay off at Matchbook. You don't have to lay off the full amount either. If someone you know is a chalk bettor and the line is -200/+170, give them -210/+180, take like 800 at -210 (so giving yourself +210 then lay off like 250 at -185 at matchbook.

                              Next lesson isn't free.

It's not worth the little reward to do this, especially with an online book. If anything I would find a local and lay it off.

This is an easy problem. He needs a book to lay some of his bets off if all are on one side. All local books do this.
