I feel like that would hurt, a lot. If it's still bleeding tomorrow, I'll probably end up putting of that new skin shit on it, but it's such a big slice that I'll need a pretty decent/painful amount.

mix some salt into lukewarm water (not too cold or hot), then dip your finger in there and keep it there. the salt will clean the wound and it stops or at least slows down the bleeding. after that, squeeze a paper towel on the cut and hold it for several minutes, this should do the trick

I'll give that a try if still bleeding in the morning, I'm kinda skeptical that that would do the trick if a band-aid for 3 hours couldn't though. Can't hurt to try though of course.

I do this all the time when I'm fishing. Band-Aids and water don't mix too well. Super Glue seals the wound quickly and provides protection. Good call.

do not wait til the morning. it should stop bleeding within 10 to 15 minutes, man, trust me. do what i said. the "salt in the wound" joke is because it stings a bit, but salt cleans a wound out and disinfects it, and it will stop the bleeding, just trust me man

Even if you don't like needles you might consider getting stitches. I cut my ring finger really close to the nail with a broken wine glass in October and that shit didn't end healing until March.

It would look like it healed, then get infected. I had to go to the doctor to get that shit drained (which includes anesthesia that stings like a ************, and of course the needle. Not to mention they cut the ******* finger open again).

After 2 rounds of antibiotics it finally healed.

When that shit was infected the area was tender and if I bumped my finger into something solid that bitch would hurt like you wouldn't believe it.

Fingers take forever to heal, I had a little bone chip on my index finger from playing hoops and it took close to a year to heal, not shitting you.

Stitches might be the smart choice.

Your platelet count is low. (platelet form clots in blood when you cut yourself) Vitamin K will restore your platelet levels. Leafy greens veggies, like spinach have a lot of vitamin k. Of course you could take a supplement with vitamin k in it. However, it will take a little while to restore the levels.

As for the suggestion of super glue, yes, even many surgical cuts are "glued" back together with medical grade super glue.

Ahh that makes sense, I don't eat vegetables (or fruits) at all, so I guess my platelet level is prolly pretty low.

First off, it would probably help if you stopped typing for the night. 2nd, if you constantly keep checking it of course it's going to keep bleeding. If the band-aid is enough to contain the blood just keep one on it overnight and the bleeding should be completely stopped.

Leukemia causes a lack of blood platelets, which means blood doesn't clot, which means you don't stop bleeding if you get a cut. Granted yes there are other things that cause excessive bleeding but leukemia is certainly a big one. It's also serious, which is why I jokingly mentioned it, though if he were actually afflicted I'd feel mildly guilty for a few minutes.
