You think if they unilaterally attack a country the size of Russia with a 4 million army, 100,000 tanks, 2000 combat aircraft and strategic bombers, 200 ships capable to launch interballistic missiles and having 16,000 nuclear weapons in their arsenal will be a walk in the park?

Russia didn't do so well in Afghanistan either did they. The biggest problem with our troops is that they aren't allowed to fight. They have politicians dictating to them how to fight instead of those in charge in the field. You can't win a war when it's being run by politicians, look at Vietnam.

Regardless of how you feel, the U.S. military is the best in the entire world. As a matter of fact, I believe that info you posted regarding Russia will tell you that.

As far as this topic is concerned, I'm talking about a war without nuclear weapons being used.

In a war where Russia is not the aggressor and they are just defending their homeland from invading US army they will not be defeated without massive losses from the US army. Just remember the reason we dropped the bomb in Japan and didn't invade them. It was to save US lives. The problem with Russia is that they have more nuclear weapons than we do. And they will not hesitate to use them when cornered. Pound for pound the Russian soldiers will fight as hard as the US soldiers.

The world is quite peaceful today because countries have a lot to lose by going to war. If Russia and the US would go to war the living standard of the world would decline with epic proportions.
