1. Interforum contest. Invite other forums to select their best cappers and go head to head. You can do it bracket style and decide how many people from each forum. Let each forum vote on their players. The prizes can come from the SBR store ie...free plays from books for like the top 4 (winner being the highest of course) and maybe a pizza for the top 8 or 16, depending on how many you end up with either 128 or 256.

2. Gamelive tried a thing called their game of the day. The biggest issue was that they waited for that particular day to discuss games and vote on which game would be "their play of the day". Not every one logs in at the same time and sometimes early games were off th board before you could talk about it. I would suggest making like a Mondays' SBR Game of the Day thread early on for each member to look at schedules and start talking about pros/cons, injuries, etc. Most of the guys here have a close idea of what the lines will be when they come out. Then set up a vote thread. That way if people want to play the game, they will have the option of looking for the best line and/or the SBR book. But it involves everyone in one play to "beat the book" which is kinda what everyone wants to do.

I know alot people on this forum have said they use these for handicapping... I have always used these for years just don't like the site that they come from, but they are a useful tool for the on the go handicapper! They also are found in some casinos in Vegas... Think of the possibilities of new posters joining SBR when they find one of these made by SBR on a table in the sportsbook in a Vegas casino.

If SBR could come up with something like this it would be a great addition.

Set up an escrow service so players can swap funds with eachother at books.... this would help with the increasing difficulties sending funds offshore..

Well, the benchmark points are something for good posters to shoot for, and is a nice little bonus. How about reviewing a sampling of posts when a benchmark is reached to see if you get quality, or "I pooped my pants" and issue the reward based on quality? I post a couple times a day, but always try to contribute something meaningful, on most occasions.

The reason the sheet doesn't have much information is because there is only 1 matchup going on right now in the NBA,

I was referring to when we have NFL, CFB, CBB, NBA, NHL all going at the same time... Plus the SBR match ups would need to be clicked individually to see and are not printable. Why would one person want to print 16 sheets for NFL matchups on sunday when they could print 1 sheet with all the same information. Think about during NBA, CBB season only, you would be viewing and printing over 50 sheets per day. I would spend most of time printing matchups instead of handicapping. This method is useful for the "Old School" capper with the different color pens and highlighters... you know what I mean!

I and quite of few other here rarely use SBR matchups because of this... being able to print 1 sheet per sport seems more convenient and you have all your information on the same sheet.

I'm tired of the Mother Teresa act. You would think your payroll consists of missionaries with their martyr like complexes. If they were not getting paid enough they wouldn't be working here.

That's by far been my biggest issue with this place for a long time. The majority of the time that you interface with an SBR employee you get treated to an officious and condescending response that sounds like it came from a disgruntled school teacher. A little professionalism goes a long way and echoes with people years down the road.

Bob, PT is for useless info, but it's entertaining. Yes, this is a handicapping forum & I always try to bring that to the forefront as well, but PT is for whatever. Its where we go to be entertained & talk shit.

What you see as stupid or useless may not be to someone else. I find Dads threads to be some of the best in PT. Even if he throws out a dud every now & again he makes up for it ten fold

BTW, you don't have to click on every thread. If you prefer to only read about sports you can avoid PT.

Maybe the whole problem is the name PLAYERS Talk. Perhaps this title tends to make some believe that it is players talking about games. Maybe it's all in the mindset but to me we have sub-forums for each sport and other specific topics and THAT is where serious discussions about games and lines and movements and the like shuld take place. Players Talk should be thought of as a lockerroom. Ever been in one either before or after the game? Sure there might be some mention of the game that's about to be played or was just played but for the most part it's guys talking about everything but the game.

Would it be possible to more add more soccer leagues? In addition to the major ones like England Prem, UEFA Champ, England Champ, MLS, you could include some of the lesser known leagues.

How about an SBR loyalty bonus programs for for members who spend more in the casino, poker room, or SBR Store? You could account how much someone has lost or spent and offer some form of comp for being an active member.

Offer more contests without having to register at a sportsbook. Yes I know the sportbook sponsors' the contest. But some of them don't accept US customers, so players are left out and are unfairly not able to compete. Couldn't the sportsbook put up a cash prize, turn it over to SBR, and allow you guys to award it? In return, said sportsbook could advertise an add during the contest, ie.. banner add, etc.

Wal66 posted on this topic suggesting the name be changed, that Players Talk seems perhaps formal and suggests a lot of sports talk.
