Jules, secrets are a form of masking ones shame. Obviously that's not always true but in many cases it is. Like Popeye always said, "I ams who I ams". I just don't know any other way.
Swinger, from 18 to about 32 all I ever wanted was to get married and raise a family. During that time though I also had the whole "Knight in Shining Armor" thing going so I would always seek out women who needed saving. While I told myself this was noble it was really just some idealistic stupidity. I would have been better off saving a dog from the kennel and finding a woman with her stuff together. Now not to give any false notions here also during this time I was heavy into gambling and what monies I wasn't spending trying to rescue these needy gals I was paying to bookies. I did spend 7 of those years with this one woman and her kids. Ok the truth is she lived with me for a year, I videoed her wedding and spent the next 6 years totally devoted to her kids. Yeah, trust me, I already know what this makes me. I loved those kids though and honestly as much of a Golddigger as she was and as much of a Queen Bitch as she was I was crazy about her all the same.
Damn Swinger I just realized what I was doing here.
Simple answer. Some guys are meant to be with someone and others are destined to be alone. Not all those with someone ever truly appreciate what it is they have and not all those without someone really deserve to not share what they can offer but it is what it is.

Ok Wal, you've grown up. You realize there are many, many women looking to get "taken care of" and feign the whole relationship thing. Now that you realize that and perhaps can abandon the naivete of yesteryear, get out there boy. I'm telling you Wal, there are women who would fall all over themselves to be with a nice guy. Just be on your guard and don't be such a nice fukking guy. Be wary before you show your shining armor. Honestly Wal, if you can't meet women socially due to job or even lack of interest in the bar scene try a match or eharmony dating site. You're generous about giving advice, this is advice you should take.

Swinger, I am, meeting wome. I'm just not meeting THE ONE. It's cool though, I'm content to date and continue the search. Oh Swinger, the search is such an amazing thing. Sometimes it takes you to places that makes you forget what you were searching for but you are enjoying what you found so much at the time it matters little.
Also I am now starting to appreciate women around my own age as well. For way too long I was strictly into younger women which is amazing and not so amazing at the same time.

Good boy. I had a discussion with a good friend of mine who has more $$ than you can shake a stick at. He's about 45 and he said he would feel ridiculous dating a woman in her 20's because they have not experienced what he has and he (being a great looking guy even in his mid 40's) would feel like he's buying her affection and unable to satisfy his own emotional needs intellectually. He even told me he has gotten to the point where they may be physically attractive but he is now more sexually attracted to women in their 30's and 40's. I offered to dress in a Vera Wang gown with Jimmy Choo shoes but he wouldn't budge. Bastard, I'm still looking for a sugar daddy.

This thread really needed a BeanTownJim post. Beaner opening up to reveal some really emotional life experience he and one of his cronies shared would have been epic.

Excel, continue with the gifs cause you have a talent there but stay away from the super sluething cause that needs way more work. If you think that everyone that doesn't agree with your perspective on life is somehow a ghost then you will end up a very paranoid person my friend.

Thanks profit... Sorry if I am wrong wal... was looking at your point history it was a little questionable. Had no idea you even knew my perspective on life or for that matter didn't agree with it. I've actually wondered for awhile if you were batmans bipolar alter ego, sent to help him funnel points out of the system.

...one more thing, Wal, truth be told...my secrets are not that exciting. A good friend of mine calls me a "cute little nerd" whose biggest secrets would make 90% of the people on this forum smirk at best. I am a goodie goodie who sometimes wants to be "bad" but fails miserably when attempting to do so. So, I shall not bore you guys with "Jules Tales"...

Excel, I loan Bateman points all the time. He has always paid them back even when I've told him I don't care about them so that is the only reason you will see the points transfers back and forth. I don't care about the points cause I have always wasted them or gave them away but I do care about integrity and Bateman (like him or not, agree with his perspective or not) has never once accepted the points as a gift. Always, ALWAYS paid them back.
Jules, I can relate to the Goodie Goodie in you. While I can not say I have never done anything I am ashamed of for the most part I have lived a fairly mundane life. Most people will assume this makes people like me boring but that's ok, I'm not living my life for them. If we allow outside influences dictate what is best for us then how is that being true to ourselves?
As for that little bad girl in you Jules, let her come out and play sometimes.
Fram, it's good to have someone we would do anything for. It gives us a purpose in life and makes us feel content to know we are someone who can be counted on.

Wal66, my BFF gives me a purpose in life and makes me feel content that i am someone that can be counted on.
On the hand, i wish i had another friend that i could talk to. I am pretty sure i would feel better because i wouldn't be so centered on my BFF.
