    I Don't Have A BFF
This is not a sympathy thread where at the end I am hoping to garner everyone’s pity and end up with hordes of offers to be my new BFF, it's merely an observation.

I have plenty of golfing buddies. I have plenty of poker buddies. I have some really good friends but I can't honestly say that I have an actual 100% real BFF.

I don't think it bothers me but I can't be sure. It doesn't bother me because I am fairly content with my life but it would bother me if the reason I don't have one is due to my personality or some other character flaw that I don't realize I have. It wouldn't bother me if that BFF were just a one sided BFF and only wanted to be my BFF to get loans or rides or the free vacations. However it would bother me if in not having a true life BFF I am missing out on something really amazing. Not like the experience of running down to the jail and bailing them out at 4 in the morning type of experience but more along the lines of a certain unexplainable chemistry type of experience.

And like if I were to ask the question of posters experience with their BFF's I couldn't even participate in my own thread because I would have no experiences to share. This kind of makes me wish I had a BFF after all, I mean how lame is it to have a thread and not be allowed to offer your personal insight into it?

So as much as it saddens me I would much appreciate to hear your wondrous tales of experiences you and your BFF have shared. Your stories will act as my surrogate BFF.

i dont even know which one i like the best, but my brother from another mother and I first started racking up stories at Wyandot Lake(water park) when we were 11 and I must say, we did a damn good job, even made the news.

Wal, I truly believe that if geography were not an issue that you and I would be close friends, as far as BFF's go are you making yourself available to be one, maybe someway you dont know you are guarded. If you are ever passing thru North Alabama you have a place to crash and a great meal with cold beverages. By definition for a guy a BFF is a brother by another mother. I have 2 such friends that no matter what I know they are there for me and I for them. If some of your friends are there for the frindge benefits those are free loaders.

Swinger, not married, never have been and looking like never will be.

brooks, that was along the lines of what this thread was to be about, wanted to hear stories of the troubles and lifes experiences shared with the best friends.

Mathy, I visit the other side of the street often. Good people live on both sides of the street.

Bateman, the sentimental mush in me shed a lil tear reading that.

JJ, BFF is hardly some backwoods term. I quite sure you even told Shari you wanted to be her BFF. Also not to defend myself but I kind of think I have a fairly decent grasp of the english language and a pretty good vocabulary. Now JJ while I have you here, I KNOW you have some amazing stories of adventures shared with former BFF's of your. Share JJ.

Holdem, partner I appreciate the hospitality offer. I'm certain we would probably be very good friends and no doubt we could take down our share of the local card games. Psssst...........college football is close enough you can feel the itch.

hmm, i don't think i've ever heard another man saying the word 'bff' before... isn't that reserved for girls, especially those in the 12-25yr old stage?

I have several close friends I share pretty much everything with. Amongst those I have two I would consider BFFs (even though that term always makes me giggle). One I have known as long as i can remember. She grew up with me and even though we are as different as can be, we still (or maybe that is exactly why) are extremely close. The other one has been my good good friend since 7th grade. We went to college together and I know I could always call her and ask her for advice, money, etc. Those two women know (almost) all of my secrets and we never just have small talk. We share silly rituals together and we never judge. I think that is important.

I deliberately used BFF for a reason. In my mind I did it for a more humorous approach to my thread and in your eyes I must be a girlie man for doing so. Now with THAT in mind you did come into the thread, so you were either looking for something humorous as in my scenerio or you were looking for ummmmmm a girlie man.

Either way it's cool dawg. While I may not be funny I am accepting of those with alternate lifestyles.

Jules, thank you for sharing. I wish I was above this but unfortunately I'm just not. While I may not be your typical PIG I am still a guy with a vivid imagination. Hearing of the friend whom you went through college with, one (well myself and probably many more that won't admit to it) can't help but wonder if perhaps....................there might have been a lil expeirmentation? Now before you think me crast at least recognize I ask this in the most delicate of ways.

                                              just sayin:

BFF - Stands for Best Friends Forever. An abbreviation mostly written on binders or notes by girls in grade school, however, over the last few years, people who use to use the term in grade school have actually started saying it, typically in a joking manner, to mean a close relationship with someone.

Wal...I am giggling now. Well, if this forum was less public and you were better known to me, I might consider telling you one or two stories of my college life. Imagine us sitting in a wine bar and sharing a bottle of...say...Gewurztraminer. I am sure after the first glass and the telling of a couple of escapades from my silly youth you would end up just laughing. And yes, I do appreciate how politely you ask for more info. Well done there, pal!

I cant keep friends. I borrow money from them for gambling & never pay them back. Shame them into bailing me out of jail & never pay them back. I have had friends invest money in several of my failed business ventures. Every friend I have ends up hating me!!!

I don't drink but I certainly don't mind buying them for those that do. As for being better known to you maybe time will allow for that to happen. As I said I am reformed but once an addict always a potential addict.

Ok Wal, out with it. Now it's a pretty well known and established fact that a man could be uglier than a bag of a-holes but if he's got either $$ or sensitivity, he's got a companion with even a little bit of effort. Now I know based on what you've posted that you're not independently wealthy but I also know based on your video, you're not a bad looking guy either (forget about the extra lbs, non-factor). So you don't have an appearance issue to overcome and you definitely meet the sensitivity quotient. So tell us, objectively and with as much candor as you can muster, why no woman in your life? You're the kind of guy that usually gets married at 22 not unmarried at 44. Fill us in Wal, your public awaits.

I might have 2 people that I could call on for something if I needed it & they were in a position to help.

One of them is a girl I dated for about 2 years. I've had ALOT of women & ALOT of relationships, I am usually the one to fuk them up, I realize that now as I'm getting older. Her & I still have a special relationship & will always be close until the day we die. She is probably the only girl I've really truly loved & still do with all my heart. I would do anything in this world for her & she would for me, we just couldn't make it work in a relationship, but she is my best friend. I may go 6 months without seeing her, but not a day goes by I don't think of her & it has been that way for 4 years now.

I have dated women that just can't understand that & I guess I see their point, but not really. My best friend happens to be a girl I use to date. They get so jealous because I will drop whatever I'm doing to go to her if she needs me.
