How many executives from BP have been fired? Oh, I assure you there will be a sacrifical lamb but the big boys will not leave their big paychecks unless forced out for criminal wrong doing.

People make mistakes and blown calls are an unfortunate part of any business. Do they get fired? Should they get fired? No, only unless it is a chronic problem. If your contention is he shouldn't have made this mistake because it was such an important call then that would logically suggest umpires have control over all blown calls. The fact is a bad call can happen anywhere and at any time. I would further argue that the reason he made this error is because he was so intent on getting it right and not maintaining a bias against the hitter. Good intentions, bad results.
he said real world, they aren't apart of it either.

Ah, another captain of the debate team. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good argument. Remember Holt, SBR only gives you points for your first post of the day. No need to feel obliged to do more than you have to.

Any debate that compares Major League Baseball umpires to BP Executives is not one I want to be apart of. I guess you feel bad for BP too.

          Thanks though

You have a point, unfortunately your hair is covering it. Wow, you don't follow along very well do you? Hell, you admittedly can't even read entire posts.

            Oh, and you're very welcome.

That was in the fifth inning, not exactly deep in the game.

On the other side of the coin, I was very impressed with how Joyce handled himself on the field of play AND after the game............

From this point on I will always be a big fan of both of these gentlemen.
completely agree with you on this, i felt this exact same way yesterday when i saw what both men had to say, class all around
