FLORIDA one month away from UNCAPPED NO LIMIT POKER
Florida, if they handle this right, will become the new mecca of poker in America within no time..............

The poker down here now is incredible in terms of action and the amount of fish, this new law will make things incredibly wild down here.

This will also help the economy here in the state............great move by the state lifting the $100 max buy-in rule.

Trust me on this, Florida will attract the biggest names in the pokerworld and this will be a tremendous money making oppurtunity for even the slightly above average NO LIMIT player.

As is in TAMPA area alone right now, on a an average day at the five pokerrooms, there are well over 100 tables operating and spreading NO LIMIT.

Also, the new law will allow the tracks to operate their rooms 18-24 hours, instead of the mandatory 12 hours they are limited to now.

Come July 1st, all hell is going to break loose down here.

One will see massive amounts of money on the table at the Tampa Hard Rock.

Poker in the Miami area is going to be off the charts.

Within two months, FLORIDA will be blowing away VEGAS in terms of poker.............again, unless the pokerrooms and/or the government screw it up somehow.

The action now is incredible..........with the uncapped buy-ins, it's going to be absolutely crazy.

good news but there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD that florida is going to overtake vegas in terms of poker.

good to see they are finally are getting rid of the $100 nonsense - but way too much bad will was generated by that to overcome and take them seriously.

can you possibly imagine any big time player saying "why go to vegas for the wsop, big tournament, etc when i can go to tampa??"

                        This.

Nice to see Florida stepping out of the Stone Ages (I live in Florida) but c'mon, overtaking Vegas for a poker destination? LOL

                            Florida will BLOW AWAY Vegas!

For a variety of reasons, one being there is tons more people in the state of Florida than in the city of Vegas.

With the 100 cap in place now, do you know how many no limit tables are operating throughout the state??? With the buy-in uncapped and the hours extended at the local tracks, now the amount of people and the amount of money will increase incredibly.

As an outsider and never before experiencing or seeing Florida poker, I can understand you're thoughts...........but believe me, Florida will be off the charts when this new law becomes a reality.

AS IS, the TAMPA HR is one of the top three dealing jobs in the entire country.....place is a madhouse and patrons tip insanely.

To give those an idea of what to expect.........

When Florida first went to raising their ridiculous maximum $2 bet and went to the 100 buy-in NO LIMIT, the Tampa HR pressed their luck and offered the UNCAPPED version before they were shutdown after a few days.............

If you don't know the amount of money that was on these NO LIMIT tables(in a full room of 30+ tables), I suggest you do some research.

A few "vegas pros" got drift of this and made it for a few days of the fun and games.

As stated, when July 1st hits here, all hell is going to be breaking loose.

hes been struggling in the last year or so since he started there in mid 2007, but expecting that to pick up to previous levels and beyond now.

Agree, down the past year, but I can assure he is not "struggling".

My friend as dealt there for many years and has dealt all over the country...........he told me he couldn't imagine a better place to deal, for the money.

Having put in many hours in this joint, I can tell you it is insane what some of these people tip............it is common to see people tipping 4-10 bucks on a winning 100-200 pot...........and during the day you will almost always see some drunk or fabulous rich individual toss dealers 20 dollar plus tips.

IMO you are wrong! I love playing poker in South Florida. I live in the Midwest, and make the trip down a couple times a year. The poker rooms down there are full of FISH! It is hard for an advanced player to even have a losing session down there. The raise in limits will bring more quality of play in Florida, but there will still be plenty of FISH donking off thousands! Gulfstream and Hard Rock poker rooms are just as nice if not nicer than any poker room in Vegas, and who doesn't love to take a break in the action and hit up top notch beaches in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, not to mention the nightlife and great restaurants. Sorry for the long post, but I can go on and on about poker in South Florida. I choose South Florida for my poker trips over Vegas every time!

The ONE thing Florida will need to do to WITHOUT QUESTION pass Vegas as a poker destination is improve on thier comps.............one can't even get a free drink at these joints, let alone free buffets, gifts, and hotel rooms.

If Florida could dramatically improve their COMPS to a level that is at least average with most of the country, it would be great.

There are only THREE pokerrooms in the city of Tampa(Tampa Greyhound, Tampa HR, and TAMPA DOWNS)

There are hoards more throughout the entire state.

If Florida could dramatically improve their COMPS to a level that is at least average with most of the country, it would be great.
I retired from table games years ago, and never played table games or slots in Florida, as a poker player comps are not important to me.In my day I was always well taken care of in Vegas(while playing table games). You may have a point, from a slot or table game player perspective as I don't think the Indians are big on giving away free stuff, but the comp system at the Hard Rock poker room is pretty nice, not to mention the great bad beat jackpot.

They pay you per hour to play poker at Hard Rock Hollywood and you can use the money for food in the casino.

What comp system(have not played there in awhile, did they add something)???

As far as the bad beat, that's money you as a player pay for.

Agree with you that comps could be considered more of an importance on other gaming games other than poker.

The rake in Iowa with many games is only $3 and they comp...........Florida is $5 and no comps at the majority of outlets.

Patty, I'm really not that up on it...........I've not played much recently with my concentrations offshore.

                                                            I'm guessing yes, right???

If so, that may be a better money oppurtunity than the NO LIMIT games........especially for a seasoned pro like yourself. Right???

there are always people willing to throw away money, but are there that many people willing to throw away a lot of money without getting free drinks/hotel/etc on a florida vacation?
