No argument from me, Rondo is the fukkin MAN. Doing absolutely everything for this team right now. He went from just a guy with a lot of speed and athletic ability to Mr. Everything. Runs the show completely. And sets the tone with his constant hustle.

But as someone said, the Celtics #1 calling card is their total team defense.

I would say Rondo is the number 2 gamer in the playoffs, not the best player. He comes to play when the most is on the line. Nobody can take that away from him. Coming up big in the playoffs, late in the playoffs far outweighs regular season highlights and stats. It is why Billups is still called Mr Big Shot even though he hasn't done shit since the 2004 finals.

            Seaborneq,

Billups took his team to the conference finals 7 straight years. After they won it in 04-05, he took pistons back to ECF in 05-06, 06-07, 07-08, then got traded to denver and took them to WCF in 08-09.

After Billups got traded for A.I, Denver became and instant contender and Detroit wasn't even a playoff team anymore...

some of the ridiculous arguments that say since rondo is still playing in the playoffs and lebron/wade aren't he must be better are crazy.
that also means that big baby, andrew bynum, tony allen, etc are among the top 20 in the nba?

and then i guess automatically last year dwight howard was a top 5 guy for being in the finals, but now he is complete garbage just because they're losing ONE playoff series.

it would be funny to have some of you guys as a general manager, "well who do we want to attract, lebron, wade, chris bosh, joe johnson - NO WAY forget all those guys they suck i only want rondo! he is the greatest player in nba history, as proven by his 4-14 shooting and 11 points tonight! even better than jordan/kobe would do!"

good point goat milk, but consistent winning and years upon years of solid play doesn't seem to matter here, rondo has had a good month so even though he has averaged 10 pts/game and 6 assists/game for a 4 yr career he is already better than billups ever was (i'm kidding of course) averaging 15 pts/game and 6 assists/game for a 13 yr career

people always have a short memory of things even from last year

Its hard to judge Rondo. He benefits so much from having so many great players on the team. Definitely a top 5 PG though.

Rondo won a title already and has a shot at another one

Guys mentioned in this thread never came close

He is a winner and best all around guard in NBA other than Kobe now

Announcers all even said he is number 1 point guard in league

rondo's a great player no question

even if the announcers call him the #1 point guard i would still rather take deron williams or chris paul. and for ALL guards i believe there's a guy named dwayne wade

keep in mind these are the same announcers that all picked orlando as the favorite for nba champ after they beat atlanta, they were all kissing howard's butt now they are kissing rondo's butt (they have to sell SOMETHING with how boring these playoff series have been)...

i'm with you on that milwaukee mike. I'll take Deron and Cp all day before Rondo. However i do think Rondo poses a threat to the Lake Show...Prob. the biggest threat.

                                Rondo?

JJ, put down the crack pipe.

Rondo? He only fits the Boston mold.

Rondo is very good. He has a different skill set than most point guards. He is a very good rebounder and passer. Not sure if he is on Wade or Lebrons level. But can we really rank players 1,2,3?

this coming from the same person who always says teams can't win with Black leaders running the show, i.e. QB's, Head Coaches, Point Guards, etc.

Funny how he played for Tubby at UofK and learned the solid fundamentals of the game and the most important being Defense, yet Tubby can't coach to most people. And now he has stepped up his game even more by learning from Doc and Allen.

Because he writes so much stupid shit... like:

Orlando will win game 2 by 15 points

Orlando is the sharp play in game 3

Rondo is the second best player in the NBA

Phoenix is a $10,000 play tonight (could somebody loan it to me)

                                                          I could go on...but I won't...

most don't consider DEFENSE a part of a players skill set...

Rajan RONDO is the BEST defensive point guard in the NBA..and it isn't even close

infact the only player recieving more NBA All-Defensive Team votes than RONDO was DWIGHT HOWARD

NBA All-Defensive team is selected by 30 NBA coaches.

defense wins championship fellas. that is what makes rondo a top 5 current player in this league.
