Nuggets the most overrated 1 seed in West in 20 years ???

    I keep saying it.
    Only 53 reg season wins.
West #1 seed typically has 60+ wins.
yes they have the Joker and Murray and Porter Jr.
2 AS and one 2nd tier AS.
outside of that a big drop off.
    such a boring team, too.
    malone a good coach.

if they do not win G4 in Phx w CP3 out, and let this series get tied 2-2, look out.

either way, DUBS to win the West and make the finals again................

League won't suspend Jokic for making effort to retrieve ball. Would precipitate avalanche of fans withholding ball in the playoffs.

i believe Steph and Wiggins missed most of those road games.

steph only played in 56 games.

wiggins only 37 (less than half of the 82).

    klay missed 13 games also

Malone isn't that bad, he's not Phil Jackson, but I don't think he sucks either.
Nuggets need new ownership, or a cap specialist.
They're top heavy, Jokic, Murray, and Porter make up almost 60 percent of the teams entire salary cap.
That's why their bench is non existent, they have no money to attract a good sixth and seventh man.
40 percent of the teams cap is all they have for the 4 through 14 man.

After Bruce Brown and Jeff Green, Nuggets bench are a bunch of D League rejects.
That's not on Malone, that's on the upper front desk.

If somehow Suns win this series... I think you have to fire Malone. Injuries in the past saved him before. Nothing to save him this time. You have one of the best centers to ever play this game... and you can't figure out a way to closeout Phoenix? Any coaches dream to have a versatile center like Jokic.

Malone just doesn't impress me. Probably a great assistant... but not a head coach. I mean don't get me wrong... he wins during the regular season. But it's a different kind of animal in the playoffs. He blamed his team's defense during the post game interview... well put them in the right defensive set so you can score and play defense.

    Bingo.

    That's what Malone is/was. A good assistant.
He was Mike Brown's assistant with LeBron's early Cleveland years.

He was a good assistant to Marc Jackson's GSW teams.

Then he took the crappy (at the time) Kings head coaching gig.
Red Auerbach or Pat Riley couldn't coach that mess.
Now he's been in Denver ever since.

Anyway, Nuggets just extended Malone, and he's still one of the lowest paid HC's.
If you shit can him, the cheap ass Nuggets are on the hook for the salary, and then they have to replace him with somebody better that is willing to work dirt cheap.

Those coaches are out there, but they're rare.
Mora turned the UConn football program around, nobody wanted that job, and Mora took it only because he wanted to get back in the game.
Point being, who's willing to work dirt cheap in Denver that's both available and a better option than Malone.

Personally, I could take or leave Malone.

Den on the road let guys drive right to the hoop with ease all regular season. They thought they could win 1 on the road by outscoring and they failed.

Def favor Den game 5 tho. Guys like Porter and KCP will actually hit some 3's.

start a podcast. plenty of people doing so with far less understanding and perception.

    two main ingredients
    1. is there a demand? (yes. sports=massive audience)
    2. is the host knowledgeable.. can he/she spontaneously speak at length on topics without delay of referencing material. (appears so)

    Funny you should mention that.
MY buddy Brandon works for the Twins in their front office.
Not what you think, he's in media relations, which is under the front office 'umbrella'.
We have a baseball weekly podcast, truth be told the podcast is legally all his, when he was ready to launch big time he asked me to help out with all things technical.

Brandon is in mass media and communications by trade.
I'm an IT operations analyst by trade.

We've been best buds for over twenty years, we're both totally off the charts MLB junkies..
We both write, the difference being he's a journalist, and does regional broadcasting professionally.
I do some technical writing at work, you know, flow charts and stuff, I do creative writing for my own amusement.
I'm a freelance blogger, you can find me over at WordPress, those fine folks over there host my site.

    BuzzSprout hosts our (his) podcast,
They have a razor sharp tech team, he needed a tech support team he first got off the ground.
A year later he asked me if could help him out with the tech software and hardware, and loves chatting MLB with me.
I share my opinions with him regarding content, ultimately he has the final word.

    All my writing is independent.
Freelance might be a better word.
It's more of a hobby, if you do that for a living, communications, in this day and age if you fart wrong, you get canceled.
I don't have to worry about that, nobody has the ability to shit can me

Well right now the nuggets are+120 to win the conference and the Lakers are +140

My guess would be Denver -150/+130 Lakers tops.

I would even go as low as -135/+115

Yeah, I'd lean towards the latter of the two prices you mentioned.

I don't think the Nuggets are highly regarded, and if the Lakers closeout GSW then they'd enter the contest with the better resume.

I'm starting to think you may be right on that,

This the kind of cooler I'm currently on, it started about the day before the play in games began some three weeks back,
I thought the Bucks would rep the ECC, and bought a futures Milwaukee to win the conference. Epic failure.
At the same time I bought a Suns future ticket to win the WCC, setting up a Suns/Bucks finala.
Epic failure agan, the only thing the Suns series is missing is the Priest reading th=en their last rites before the plugs to the life support respirators are pulled.

Wait, there's more, it gets even better.
The very next wager I placed was even a bigger monumental failure than the two previous bets.

I'm on Sac-Town to win that Warriors series
I'm not a heavy hitting dime a play whale, that's not who I am.
i'm a light weight, nevertheless, I have the Kings to win that series 100 dollars at +235
That ended well for your pal Nasher, didn't it?

And I've been in a freefall ever since.
Including those three losers, I'm not four and eleven across my last fifteen bets, i know, before i made this evenings wgers, I double checked my bet history for the last 30 days, yep, four and eleven, verified.

If you're keeping score at home, and I know you are, i'm on Miami tonight, money line, feeling here is they'll win straight up.
Just like there are two sides on a coin, there are two sides to a bet.
    Riddle me this?
Based off of the Knicks past performances would you be comfortable laying -160 to win outright tonight,
If one likes Miami tonight plus 3.5, and I do, I also like Miami not only two cover, but win outright.

I personally think there's a ton of value in Heat, money line tonight.
Just don't lose sight of the fact I'm smack dab in the middle of an epic cooler, bet accordingly.

    Moving along...
I don't have a pipeline to Silver's office or anything like that, but I think it's pretty safe to say the NBA bean counters would much likely prefer a Boston/Laker finals or NYK/LAL finals, or even a finals involving the Warriors against major East Coast market, reason being from a business point of view, with money being the root of all evil and other bullshit, the serious west coast money markets are LA, and SF, there's others, but LA and SF would bring in much more money, you really don't even have to seriously promote a Boston/Lakers championship, with those two storied franchise history, that series would sell itself.

Disney (ABC/ESPN) owns the TV rights for the finals.
Even the empty suit execs over there couldn't kill that cash cow, but if anybody could, it would be them.

If I were in marketing or advertising (which i am not) you would think the best approach would be the Embid vs.Jokic, rather than the Sixers vs. Nuggets angle.

There's serious merchandise money to be made if it's indeed a finals featuring Embid and Jokic.
You would think NBA stores and the NBA licensed outlets whould have no problems moving a boat load of that merch.
It would be a win/win, I glossed over some of the new CBA that's in place, the players get 50 percent of league merch, and corporate gets the other 50 percent.

    Win/win.
