    @MJ
Nuggets ownership isn't very sports savvy either, all that WalMart money you'd think that franchise would have had a lot more success in the past.

Nuggets principal owner is Stan Kroenke, he's the husband of Ann Walton Kroenke.
Ann is Bud Walton's baby girl, Bud and brother Sam Walton were the founders of WalMart.
When Sam and Bud passed on to that big box retail chain in the sky, the two brothers left those gazillions of Walmart dollars to the two daughters. Last I checked Ann alone is worth over nine billion dollars, that was according to spotrac.

Those who aren't familiar with spotrac, that's the go to site GM's use to research the business of professional sports.
You're not going to get baseball or football stats there, or team standings, or anything like that, spotrac is nothing but the business of sports, team cap room, individual and teams players salaries, franchise worths, stuff like that.

Some of you know I have an independent baseball blog, don]t get me wrong, I'm a tad of a blowhard (the hell you say Nasher) lol, I know this, but I also know my shit stinks just like everybody else, I'm not a know it all, I know what I know, what I don't know I need to research before I write it, or turn to insiders in the business I've met along the way that for answers, and even after that I've been wrong on occasions.

But I digress, I am the (King of digression) after all lol, I've been told by people who know more about sports business than me, a lot more than me, that the Walton's (and their business teams) will go down in retail history as geniuses, but are 100 percent clueless as how to run sports franchises.

The Walton people who sign the checks I'm told think running sports franchises is the same as running Walmart stores, and look at point guards and hockey goalies in the same light as eight dollar an hour check out cashiers.
Running the KC Royals, Colorado Av's, and the Denver Nuggets is not the same as running the local Walmart in Tampa for instance.

Those teams I mentioned are all Walton money, run with a shoestring budget provided by a family with more money than God.

The Nuggets never won shit, that's due to ownership, up until last season, the Av's haven't done much of anything, and the Cup the Av's won last season all that credit should go to the GM, who knows how to work the 'cap and all.

I'm the biggest KC Royals fan on these here boards, yeah I know, we suck, doesn't change the fact I'm loyal to them, the only reason why they went back to back World Series in 2014/2015 was because of the GM Dayton Moore, IMO the greatest baseball GM nobody every heard about. The owner than was David Glass, I don't like to MF dead people, but Glass was a MF'er, where do you think Glass acquired all has billions from? Yep, he was Bud and Sam Walton's Walmart CEO, and when the original KC Royals owner Mr. Kaufman died, Glass used some of his WalMart stock money, he was after all for all intents and purposes the minority owner of WalMart, and bought outright the Royals, told Dayton Moore pretty much "Here's four dollars, go build me a championship" (that's hyperbole folks) which Moore did.

Nuggets may win in spite of ownership, but it won't be because of ownership.
Their GM, who I respect knows NBA inside out, Calvin Booth.
Played and graduated from Penn State, studied business there, played for the Wizards, worked front offices before Denver, I don't think Booth is the problem in Denver.

I don't know what Booth is going to do with Aaron Gordon though, look at the teams roster from a business end, tell me, how can they keep Gordon at this salary?

Suns purchased by the same Sparty alumni who gave the current coach $90 million. He wrecked both. He’s a nepotism guy who was put in charge of his dads mortgage company. This KD trade will go down in infamy. I have season tickets right next to the suns bench and
Bridges/Johnson were the heart and soul of that roster despite not being the “marquee” guys. That Sparty owner wanted to make a splash and it’s done.

    Not a bad pick.

I just question whether the Suns can win with this group. Only one ball to go around. Booker/Durant are really one-dimensional players.

Kroenke is the man. The Rams spend whatever they want/allowed by NFL and he lets the football people worry about the rest. He built a 5 billion dollar stadium with private money. No other owner is doing that.

Yeah, Kroenke is smart enough now to surround himself with people who actually know the sports business and how that works, I'm not saying he's not a bright business person, he sure as hell is, especially real estate.

Jaker, you've got your finger on the pulse of the LA sports world. do you think Stan married Ann for a big piece of that WalMart fortune?

dylan brooks told by grizzlies he will not be brought back under any circumstances. maybe the suns can pick up him. they're going to be scrambling for any help as they don't have trade material or draft picks. he's already 5x better than anybody they got on the bench.

suns bench yesterday, 2-16 combined +/- -47 in combined 66 minutes. this with kevin durant and booker getting doubled.

durant 44 minutes, booker 45 minutes. 3 or 4 minutes of rest.

Great stuff BUD. Brooks is a huge bum and I’m not shocked they told him this. Suns bench awful.

    appreciated. definitely.

series is not over. friday line set at -4.5 to -5, tells me paul may be back. booker and durant are better than anyone on the nuggets other than jokic. as you said malone not the best coach in the nba. earlier this year he called his players out for s play, the nuggets lost 5 games in a row in March. that kinda stuff can come back and haunt the team.

and lucky for the suns they got 3 days off.

Spot on BUD. I would only take a look at Brooks to add some edge to the roster. His play needs to elevate to backup his chatter though. As for the Suns…

They need every single day off before Friday. I’m still sitting here thinking about Jokic pushing around Ayton. What a clown. Ayton was the #1 pick at one point. Suns should have let him walk to Indianapolis.

Missed this the last time around but since he was just on TV it reminded me of the thread. He was a multi billionaire before Walton money I believe. He just married in his Caste.

Kroenke is the man. I think the only championship trophy he hasn't hoisted now is the MLB
