#181k a month? Wouldn't we all like to make 12% a year?
The truth of the matter is that there is no "best single investment" to put it in. I'm in a similar situation with you and this is how I am approaching it.
We are currently in a once-in-a-lifetime (or at least a few generations) housing market. The opportunity we have presented to us right now is incredible, and it would be stupid to pass it up. That being said, it doesn't mean you need to run out and buy whatever you can. I believe taking your time to find a good short sale is the key to maximizing your return. In the meantime, I have about 50% of my "safe" money in investment grade bonds, and the rest in securities. The "safe" money is in high quality bonds because that is the money I will need to put a down payment on the house once I find it. Those bonds really don't pay much (2-3%) but they provide the security I need while giving me a very modest return. The rest of the money I have in the stock market. I have been investing in the market ever since I was 14. Now that I'm nearing 30 I realized that I don't have the time necessary to do the research needed to stay on top of the market. At the beginning of the year I found a trusted broker and turned my securities portfolio over to him.
So there you have it. 50% in bonds because I need that money to buy a house, and 50% in securities to hopefully make me rich one day. Let me know if I can help out any further.Comment -

3.50 percent monthly. 42% yearly. Tax free. Your call to file taxes.
My show pool only takes the best horses in the U.S. Right now we are at 56 straight. Majority being Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta.

#26If you got 100k and you don't need it immediately, meaning you can tuck it away untouched for 10 years then you should put it in a diversified portfolio or a mutual fund.
No brainer there.
What goes in the portfolio and what kind of mutual fund should be based on your associated risk.
Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with the health and financial sectors because the U.S. has alot of old people and those old people have all the money and they are living long.Comment -
