+100. For my money, McEnroe in his prime is the GOAT although it only lasted about five years. Tennis should go back to wood rackets so the players have to make shots instead of just serving their way out of trouble.

My choice for the best tennis player of all times : 1) MR. ROD LAVER - THE GREATEST of them all - untouchable , hands down , end of conversation !! 2) B.Borg - 3) The rest of them - pick ur own #3 player - Connors , Lendl , McEnroe , Federer , Nadal and so on !!

It's so so hard to compare. We are lucky to live in this day when not one, not two but three active players can contend for the GOAT title. Can Federer stay healthy and motivated for two or three more titles? It's captivating.

Novak should have 19 GS titles by now but wimbledon was canceled and he got robbed in the US open.

Pete Sampras would clean up Nadal/Djoko on most surfaces.

                      Borg would do the same.

Federer has made almost a billion dollars. It's Fed.

Rafael Nadal tied Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slam titles and has a claim as the greatest tennis player of all time, but Nadal's $450 million in career earnings from prize money and endorsements is only half Federer's tally.

                            No. Why even compare?

Nothing remains the same, humans eat better and specialize from an earlier age. Please realize that any top 10 player today would beat Sampras etc etc etc. It's like saying Usain Bolt would somehow be slower if he was time machined 50 years back.

No! He would be faster than anyone. The difference would be even bigger.

In the end, many might just give say:

Grass (and maybe Indoor Hard): Fed
                              Clay: Nadal
                              Outdoor Hardcourt: Djokovic

Of course, they all had versatility to their game as well. Nadal more than a clay pigeon

I disagree for Nadal and Djokovic. They would still be able to serve great with a wood racket. Their serves are based on spin and placement, not power.
