Indeed, D'Antoni has always been a massive over-achiever in the regular season -that's his problem. Then the playoffs arrive and people expect it to continue on.

Morey will be out of a job because China is ignoring the Rockets. They can't fire him and save face, but they can play hardball in contract negotiations. I don't see any other team picking him up.

That's exactly right, Morey's a mathematical genius and could easily make millions in various industries but those skills don't translate to winning in the NBA

Mathematical genius is a stretch. He values the 3pt shot and layups. D'Antoni was onto that way before him. I don't know about his qualifications but his actions suggest he's a penetrating idiot.
