#38As we've mentioned once or twice, quarterback Tim Tebow's habit of openly expressing his religious beliefs could potentially rub folks the wrong way, especially in a locker room of grown men who choose to keep their beliefs to themselves, who don't share his beliefs at all, and/or who only want to hear "God bless" after they have sneezed.
We're told that Tebow already has gotten a taste of the resistance he might face at the next level.
At the Scouting Combine, the Wonderlic exam is administered to players in groups. The 12-minute test is preceded by some brief instructions and comments from the person administering the test.
Per a league source, after the person administering the test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam.
Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the fuk up." Others players in the room then laughed.
We're not passing judgment on this one; we're just passing along what we've heard. And it illustrates the type of challenges that could be faced by the team that drafts Tebow.
That said, some teams might embrace those challenges. The final decision will depend largely on the composition of the team, and the personalities of the coach, the G.M., and the owner.Comment -

#50That entire story is bullshit. Totally made up. Tebow never tried to get players to pray before the exam. Tebow has gone up against all the top QB's and out performed them all. Jamarcus Russell, Jevan Snead, Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford, Tony Pike, etc. In each of those games he was head and shoulder's better than all of them. His accuracy is one of the highest ever in the SEC but idiots like Kiper and McShay say he has accuracy problems (while they drooled over Jamarcus Russell who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn). Tebow easily has been the best athlete on the field in every game he played including Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy. He's excelled at every level and is a tireless worker. Do you really think Brady Quinn is a better option? We already know that he hasn't done shit in several years.
This was a home run for Denver. Tebow will make an impact immediately in the red zone. Someone in Jacksonville needs their ass kicked because no way in hell were they supposed to let him go.
Quit hating bitches... He went ahead of Claussen and McCoy. Eat it...

#54Tebow won me some points. Martin, you wanta transfer those over now?Originally posted by MartinBlankSam.....no one ever said NFL GM's and head coaches were smart.....
Remember Tom Brady went in the 6th round, Joe Montana in the 3rd, and Mike Ditka gave away 8 draft picks away for Ricky Williams.
McDaniels is making a big risk here---he gave away a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick for Tebow..which is fine, but he already has two QBs that he traded for.
Just look at Drew Brees---he was a second round pick---while busts like JaMarcus Russell and Matt Leinart were high first round picks.Comment -

#55I agree, I mean since when is Kyle Orton all of a sudden a prize possession. Brandon Marshall made him look much better than he really is, and you do realize Orton was 2-8 over the last 10 games. Denver was doing some wheeling and dealing all night to trade for this, so the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pick was kind of like house money. They still had another 1st round pick and have 2 picks early in the 2nd round. Shred move by Denver.Originally posted by HoldEmHook!!Agree totaly........Orton and Quinn.........Dumb and Dumber II

#56That is what I heard he worked on his throwing and he looked better to me. I do agree with Brock also why are they going after a QB right now when they already have 2 and this one will probably need some work on mechanics. I don't like him being chosen in the first round like this to a team that has a QB right now. It is not like they really needed a back up right now or something. I just think Denver has done something risky here no doubt.Originally posted by jjgoldThey must know something and Tebo looked good in the workouts.Comment -

#59Someone brought this up many posts ago: If you're a Broncos fan, you ought to be royally PO'd today. A first-round draft pick is supposed to be able to go to rookie orientation to training camp to the starting lineup, and by all accounts, Tebow isn't talented enough to go that route. If you want to take a chance with him in the third round or after, fine, but Round 1 is absurd. Denver deserves to go 0-16 for showing such stupidity.Comment -

#63This was a terrible trade. There is simply no way around it. Tebow is going to be garbage this season and next. Eventually he may become an average QB, but nothing more. In the mean time, that moron McDaniel did absolutely nothing to improve this team or fill any of it's needs. Denver now has three weak armed QB's, and no one to throw the ball to. Now before some of you Tebow lovers go telling me that it was a trade for the future, you do not trade for the future when your team has missed the playoffs four years in a row. If a team like New England did this, I could understand. But Denver? No way.Comment -
