Great post DrStale. But they DID violate the spirit of the law. Their p2p transactions were directly followed by store purchases.
This is getting ridiculous!!!

#37Guys, you can talk all you want, but the facts are these. The rules are very clear. These two, intentionally or not, broke those rules. Lou and SBR acted accordingly. No one in here has the right to tell SBR how to run their business. These are FREE points. Arguing about the tactfulness of how this was done is foolish. No one except SBR knows the ENTIRE stroy here. If you guys want to play detective, I suggest you do so when trying to figure out who will defeat who. It certainly would be much more profitable to you. Was anyone else in here affected by the actions that SBR took against these two? Did anyone else lose points? If not, it is time to stop playing Junior Detective, or Judge and Jury. I think it is great that SBR even offers such a program. Be thankful for it. Talk about greed, you guys are willing to kick a gift horse in the mouth.Comment -

#39I'm glad SBR looks into this and takes appropriate action.
Most of us DO like SBR points and contests. Although points are not worth that much, you can turn them into valuable stuff if you get enough of them. Buying free plays can make you a small fortune if you get on a streak! How many contests have we seen posters using ghost accounts to have multiple entries? I use to see a lot! Not as much any more! To think that these points/contests do not mean that much, well then I'm glad for you! I'm happy that you're such "high rollers" and have a ton of money that these are worthless to you. I myself, like to have a fair shot at them. I actually won a contest last month for $1,250 and turned it into over 2k. This is no small amount of money to me!
When posters set up multiple accounts to try and cheat the system, then there is less to give away to the rest of us! I applaud SBR for taking action against cheats!
If you guys have such a problem with the way SBR handles this, you know where the door is!Comment -

#42Are you guys saying these two (or one person according to some) decided in Jan of 09 to join this forum knowing that in August 09 SBR will start the points program and then in April 10 were going to attemp to transfer 50 points between them (worth approximately $6) so they can defraud the system and purchase a $25 free play which they have to roll over 10X?
I think you may be right. But can you tell me why did they have to post 10,000 posts and soccer picks which were hitting at 60% or better before they finally defrauded the system for a $25 free play?Comment -

As long as they paid the transcaction fee (1% which is charged both ways) I don't see what the problem is. And if they wanted to get around the rule on purpose they could have asked me or you to transfer 60 points to Turkzz and Karayilan can transfer the 60 points to me or you without violating the rules (here it is guys I'm just showing you how to bypass the stupid rule).
This is why I believe these two are not frauds and did this without a megaplan to defraud SBR. So when SBR accuses them they are frauds they have the right to be upset and they have accepted the penalty of not earning both points from the same household or IP address.Comment -

#48Originally posted by pavyracerIt appears that Turkzz bought a free play from the store using 375 of his points. And a few days before Karayilan transferred him 60 points. Now explain this to me. If these two were masterminding this fraud for a long time (meaning it was the same poster earning double the points) why would they just have one transfer to the other for just 60 points and not keep doing this back and forth every day and then disappear?

there are no transaction fees for transferring from me to you?
I thought whenever you transfer a TOTAL of 100 points to anyone..... whether it be to 1 person for 100 points or 100 people for 1 point..... you got charged a 1% rake fee? I'm not really sure how it works though, haven't been too concerned with it......Comment -

Posters A & B share the same household.
Poster C does not share the same household.
Poster C transfers 100 points to poster A and gets charged 1 point fee.
Poster B then transfers 101 points to poster C.
Now poster B has succesfully trasferred 100 points to poster A without violating same household rule for transfers without costing poster C any points with the only penalty of being charged effectively a 2% fee..but I repeat he did not violate any rules.Comment
