#42dude trust me dont take meds, those things are just a temp. fix. all psychological meds have huge side effects. i have had anxiety problems and i have fixed them through natural remedies which i have read up on and spoke to doctors about. this is what i do on a daily basis...
- make sure you get enough sleep
- take vitamins, such as fish oil (helps a lot for moods), multi vitamin and B complex vitamin (vitamin B is really important if you have anxiety)
- exercise
- eat healthy, no fast food and all that shit.
- CUT OUT CAFFIENE ASAP! caffiene is a huge cause of anxiety.
- cut out weed if your a weed smoker lol, i had too.Comment -

#43great post kav
and great advice, meds HAVE helped people but i think you're on the money that there are cheaper better alternatives
i would hate to see someone go to a psychiatrist and get put on a schedule where they go every week for a year, paying $5000 in fees and another $2000 in drug costs if it can be avoided. if they have the money or the insurance then GREAT but that doesn't seem to be the case here.Comment -

#44Most therapists see people maybe once or twice a month so your figures are way off. Meds maybe cost $600 a year and that is a stretch. One can obtain free samples as well.Originally posted by milwaukee mikegreat post kav and great advice, meds HAVE helped people but i think you're on the money that there are cheaper better alternatives i would hate to see someone go to a psychiatrist and get put on a schedule where they go every week for a year, paying $5000 in fees and another $2000 in drug costs if it can be avoided. if they have the money or the insurance then GREAT but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
If he does not have insurance I am sure Obama will pay for it using my tax money.
You are making up costs Mike so please stop until you have factual information to post.

#45Bi-polar disorder is not a fun thing to deal with it sounds like you may have it. Or some combo of anxiety and bi-polar.
*I'm not a doctor or anything so I could be way off, you just happen to have similar afflictions to what my GF had*
I am a bit of an expert on the subject as my GF of 4 years suffers from it, well, I should say she used to suffer from it. It took her trying about 10 different meds and about 4 trips to the looney bin before the doctors were able to help her. She has now been on her meds for about 2 years and is as normal as can be. Before getting help she couldn't really function as a 'normal' member of society, now she is finishing up school and holds a full time job.
She's very thankful that she got past the point you are now and went to the doctor and actually listened and did what they said. It took her years or misery and despair before she did so. I hope you learn the easy way and get some help.
Good luck and let me know if you have any specific questions.Comment -

#46Depends on which meds they are giving you. A lot of the bi-polar meds are new and have no generics. They also usually don't just prescribe you one med for bi-polar either. There's usually a mood stabilizer and an anti-depressant. Sometimes more. You can get to $1200/year easy, even if you have good insurance.Originally posted by BatemanPatricklMeds maybe cost $600 a year and that is a stretch.Comment -

#49from the way you post i can tell you are a SMART GUY. trust me, i can tell when someone is not smart and you, Sir, are SMART. just speak to people in the same style you write/post in and you will be fine. take interest in things OTHER than sports or sports betting and people will find you even more interesting. the best thing to do is follow current events, world events, just international news in general and you will have interesting things to talk about and people will be drawn to you. if all you know is sports and or sports betting than you will not be interesting to talk to nor will you live a happy fulfilling life. trust me on this.Originally posted by OmgUrMomAs some of you may already know, I work at a retail store and in the last year or so I have been suffering from some type of anxiety disorder, when I see someone I know but they have not spotted me, I walk in the opposite direction, I do not like to talk to people, even if I like this person, still do not want to talk to them. I am just to nervous and do not feel its worth the effort.
I start to sweat the last 10 minutes of my drive to work just from getting nervous about being around all those people for the next 9 hours. This shit I'm experiencing can't be normal.
I can't talk to girls or really anyone for that matter, I have absolutely no confidence and feel like everything I'm going to say will be stupid as fukk.
I have violent mood swings, one day I will be pretty happy and perhaps acting fairly normal (at least looking normal) but then the next day I will be massively depressed and it will be harder than normal to go to work/get out of bed.
I know I should go to the doctor but I can't really afford it (no insurance) also I'm scared to tell any person face-to-face about my problems.
Tks for listening...Comment -

#50almost 100% of the time. ABSOLUTELY TRUE. also, not eating right and not exercising will lead to the problems even quicker.Originally posted by jjgold1st off no one here is a professional, every case is different. #51Anti-Social behaviour - how to lose friends and alienate people.
sounds like social anxiety mixed with depression. does you dad or mom have this also?
Anxiety and depression runs in the family.
maybe even aspergers syndrome.
You definately need to see a doctor for a proper diagnoses if you want to improve your quality of life.Comment -
