#2GOAT. Emmitt couldnt hold his jock. If you put Barry on Dallas and gave him that line, he wouldve went for 200 every game.Comment -

#71. Jim Brown
2. Barry Sanders
3. Walter Payton
Difficult to rank different eras but Brown was a men among boys. He was dominant like no other player ever will be at RB. Solid at Number one.
There’s 4 or 5 you could argue take up the next two spots in a top three in any order. Juice, Earl Campbell, Dickerson, etc.Comment -

#10Jim Brown played in an era where he was the biggest player on the field many games, Walter Payton is the best running back of all time.
Sanders, Payton, Campbell,
Walter Payton never missed a game either.Comment -

This
Barry is without a doubt the Greatest RB
Only Bo Jackson should be in the argument minus the injury and if he had committed to Football full timeComment -

#12Look at the Detroit Lions in the 10 years before he came and the 10 years after he left, then compare that to the 10 years he was there. One of the worst run franchises in all of sports made regular playoff appearances just because of #20. No other non-QB in NFL history ever had that much of an impact.Comment -

It’s hard to rank them you can’t go by statistics just like baseball everything is different every decadeComment -

#17The current stats realization of how overrated RBs are is great to contemplate; right now it is obvious that the cowboys, for example wouldnt lose much with a lot of substitute RBs, but would KILL their future signing Elliott to a big deal. Murray already proved this, and yes it's a fact, when you have an O-line you show how little the particular RB means to overall success. The Rams showed it too with Gurley/Anderson. What simpletons get moved by is the sexy part of the RB, TDs, etc. The NFL is a behemoth game won on the lines and it's not even close. Only guys like Bo or Sanders matter and they are all world players, but if you had a great O-line they even become relatively expendable.Comment -

#19Peterson gotta be top 5 guys....dude is a mess mentally but he was a damn horse at RB.
No love for Curtis Martin here....guy retired like 5th all time in yards....very underrated workhorse and never had the treat lines or QBs to ease the load....Tomlinson as well.
Barry nice but not #1 too much dancing. Barry at 2 or 3 because of - yardage.Comment -

#25I remember growing up as a kid and just wanting to watch Barry Sanders carry the ball. Who gave a sh#$ wanting the Lions to win that week. We knew they'd fukk it up anyways...
But... just the anticipation... and the excitement to see what would Barry Sanders do on the next carry... that was an unbelievable feeling. You can't put it into words.
Everyone says he retired way too early? Probably so.... only athlete to ever leave in HIS PRIME.
Deserves at least Top 3.
Oh... and you couldn't tackle him in Madden either. lolComment -

#29That’s the thing. He didnt care about records. The year Christian Okoye won the rushing title Barry needed 10 more yards in the last game to win it. Wayne Fontes asked him if he wanted to go back into the game and he said no. Humblest dude ever. All he wanted to do was win. Didnt care about records or money.Originally posted by Otters27When I heard Barry was quitting I was so sad. Guy could have had all the records. Imagine him with the cowboys line
I remember a story they did on him towards the end of his career before he retired. The guy was living in a normal middle class neighborhood. Like a 200K house. It was crazy.Comment -

#30Has Barry Sanders ever openly admitted why he quit? The only report suggests Barry Sanders quit because the Ford Family wasn't "dedicated" in building a winning team. But... wish Barry would open up... and just tell the truth.
Goes to show.... proof in the pudding.... owners care about margin and profits... do not care about building championships.Comment -

#31All about the team sucking. Wasnt about money. Wasnt about anything other than the team sucked. And this was way before CTE. Back when Barry played there wasnt even a thought this was really damaging to your health. He didnt really love playing the game either. I think he had some father issues as well. His dad never complimented him. His dads favorite player was Jim Brown, and ge used to tell Barry on the regular you will never be Jim Brown.Originally posted by TheMoneyShotHas Barry Sanders ever openly admitted why he quit?
