Shari, while my post was an attempt at humor I agree we should all be more accepting of one another whether that be between the races or the sexes. I think the two of us can jump start this. I will accept you as an equal, oh what the hell you can even be a superior gambler and you can take one for your side and give this fat guy some (not "a", as in game) play.

I've been trying to respond to this for ages but the forum crapped out on me again. Conspiracy? Secret society meeting being held to which women aren't privy?

I know you were being funny, but your post actually consisted of some of the stuff I've been hearing repeatedly and while you obviously don't subscribe to that train of thought, it's obvious others do. And that's ok!!

Just wanted to attempt to figure out where it stems from and if there's any hope to make it more tolerable so those who are lurking, or are just too afraid to post, have a chance here at SBR. At the end of the day whether we're here or not doesn't make much of a difference to my bankroll. But I guess curiousity finally got the better of us and we just wanted to find out why.

And for what it's worth, I suggest you take a look in Players Talk about the theme of many of the threads in there. "I hate myself", "Why don't women like me", "I'm 40 years old, I still live at home, my Momma still sews my name into my underwear and my 85 year old Grandmother called me a loser. Why is she so mean?"

JJ,it's time to open the blinds. Come out from the shadows JJ and into the light. While in the past you may have been hurt and your emotions trashed that doesn't mean that it will happen every time. Shari, I think it's great that you & your friends gamble. It really never crosses my mind for it to be that odd when a woman bets on sports. There is a wonderful girl on the forum who posts & makes bets daily & it seems like I'm one of the very few that converses with her. Her & I talked alot nightly during hoops season.
