I am curious to see how seriously the Rooney's will try to get rid of Ben..... they are a team that knows when to cut bait, that is for sure. But if the Steelers are serious about handing Ben a punishment first, i'm not sure that they ARE looking to get rid of him

Yes, most level-headed people agree that Ben is 28 years old going on 15. And I wouldn't want him anywhere near my college-age daughter. But for those who want him to be suspended, just remember that he's never been arrested or convicted of anything, and if you start to suspend all those NFLers with similar personal problems, some teams might not have enough players to suit up. The NFL hardly is a group of 1,600 choir boys.

I understand this point of view, Golfer, but that's what I *love* about Goodell and the NFL -- it's almost like vigilante justice! They don't give a crap about what our legal system determined -- they hold The League to a higher standard. It's like, Hey, if you fukked up, and we think (or know) you fukked up, then we don't frankly give a crap if you weren't convicted because there was insufficient evidence to mount a case against you or say someone didn't want to deal with a very public trial. Your ass is gettin' suspended anyway. I LOVE IT!
