That being said I think religions are a good thing because they are a coping mechanism for a big bad world. I support all denominations as long as they are based on love and tolerance. If believing in something (however wrong) helps people in a positive way I won't go out of my way to question their beliefs. I think Atheist proponents like Dawkins and Hitchens couldn't care less about people and only voice their opinions to flaunt their own academic egos. They do a disservice to all so called "normal" atheists out there and everyone brands as radicals just as bad as any other zealot because of their rhetoric.
If Religion helps people from stealing my car stereo or mugging me then I'm all for it. Unfortunately I don't think it does even that very often which explains why over 99% of prison inmates believe in god. Religion does more harm than good. Without religion we would more than likely still have the Twin Towers, among other things.

I get the higher power thing, I don't really believe in it but I get it.

I will never get the Jesus/Bible thing. Was raised Catholic for 18 years, never got it, still don't, never will. Perplexes me that people believe Fantasy stories written by men to be true.

What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?
