SBR: You dropped the ball on bash registration

U can't get free airfare now! Out of the 50 available, 15 or so were taken by people with less then 1000 posts

ehh would have still had to find a way to get out of my 2 summer classes. Summer I turn 21, I'll def be there though

I am happy to have been one of the fifty but I can honestly say if your decision is not to go basically on not receiving $300.00 (for your travel), Vegas is probably the last place you need to be going. Just being honest here.

I completely understand Iwin, but it's $300.00 ya know? I have a hard time comprehending someone wanting to go to Vegas where that money is even a factor for them. Everyone is different and has different mentalities. I am sure some people understand what I mean and others that don't, but that's fine.

correct , you can not get free airfare, but the free hotel room for 2 nights still makes the trip a good value for what ur paying.

I agree it's about principle. $300 is a hand of blackjack but it would still be nice to have received consideration. Also to not be penalized for not being on the computer the one day sports wasn't really that important.

Just like with SBR contests, priority should be given to committed posters.

It's not a knock at the people who don't post here often, because they don't have to, but it's simply saying that someone who's made 300 posts in 3 years should not be given priority over a regular.

I'd say registration date requirement for comps should be the same signup date as it was for the 2009 bash, and minimum posts should be 1,000.

I'm #5 on the waiting list which might get me the $300.00 but for someone like me who would bring only $300 in cash it would double my bankroll. Last year I had every intention of going but coouldn't make it because the airfare made that big of difference. I feel bad for many great posters who will miss out on the bash/may miss out based on this.

I was not directing this towards anyone at all. Just stating my thoughts. I do agree with Iwin on some of his views. Iwin is a newly single man now, he will be on the hunt. He will be getting ace hookers at the bash.

The $300 is not a big deal for me since I can afford the airfare and pay for my own hotel room but the way the SBR Bash sign up thread went without a prior notice and practically being a free for all regardless of poster loyalty is not sitting very well with the loyal posters. I think it sends the wrong message but since it is still a FREE event SBR choses to allocate the reimbursements to whoever they feel signs up faster. One thing I can see already happening is cancellations from loyal posters who thought they would get some kind of reimbursement for their airfare. And yes many people like myself can afford the airfare but don't forget that many can't so for many loyal posters is a dealbreaker.

Last year the requirement was a join date of on or before January 1st 2008, and/or 4000 posts to qualify for travel reimbursement (to the first 50 signup's).

This year the requirement is a join date of on or before January 1st 2009 and 250 posts. Everyone that couldn't get in last year due to join date cutoffs was eligible this year for the travel reimbursement provided they had 250 posts.

As for those posters that had 4000 posts and registered after the cutoff date for this year (and missed one of the 50 travel reimbursement spots) - there's still going to be ways to win travel reimbursement via contests and other milestones. We will do a VIP upgrade package including travel reimbursement, a limo upgrade, etc for both those guys already registered and for those guys that didn't get the travel reimbursement.

I have to agree with this. Hell, I've been here almost 3 years and 4700 posts, but I'm not exactly a huge contributor and I don't think any posters really know who I am, so even I almost feel bad about taking one of the travel reimbursements. I think by setting the standard so low they're encouraging non-contributors to take a free trip to Vegas and skip all of the SBR functions.

Either way, no complaints from me and I'm really looking forward to making the trip and meeting you guys this year.

maybe the reimbursement should come after all the signed up people attend all the events and not duck out for a quickie with one of the hookers from the cards that the little mexicans snap at you
