Baker bowl was another crazy one, where Philly used to play.
I think the Polo grounds was about 505 at one point or somthing to dead center... and 257 down the right field line under 250 to the 2nd deck which was overhanging... they changed it all the time though

Babe Ruth's Yankee stadium's right field line wasn't even 300 feet!
Baseball used to be really odd with some of this stuff

As many of you know, I'm a Bostonian. I think you find people in both camps here: people that think the place is a dump -- your seat is too small, the right field seats don't even point toward the action, there are obstructed view seats, etc.... and people who are traditionalists who just want the Sox to play there for another 100 years until the place collapses since it's such a classic landmark, a museum almost.
I kind of am in the first camp -- a sweet new ballpark would be cool. On the other hand, you can't beat all the memories that come with an ancient place like Fenyway.

They should require all new stadiums that are built to have specific dimensions. (except Colorado of course)
Yeah, they should all be the exact same like golf courses.

Having been to both Fenway and the old Yankee Stadium, I much prefer Yankee Stadium. Didn't enjoy the Fenway experience

The worst is when hitters loaf down to first and are held to a single after banging it off the Green Monster!

They should paint a line on it at regulation height

No doubt there are two camps. The Sox fans I talk to (mostly my age, 27) are all realists who respect the tradition but would like to see the club move into the new age. They could sell 50,000 tickets (thus making it cheaper to attend), upgrade the experience, and gain some respect as a modern business club around the league.
Some people just can't let go though. They are called old people. These are the same people that say shit like "I used to walk 30 miles in the snow, uphill both ways..." These people should take some solace in the fact that the Sox broke the curse in Fenway. Now it is time to move on. Like any company, team, or person, if they fail to adapt to a new age they will be hurt by it.
I hope they do something, cause you know it would be spectacular.
