can't believe they were only offering +2000.

leads me to believe that vegas knew there was a remote chance for umbc to pull off history.

The moneyline was way out of whack for that game. Virginia was missing a key player in the six man of the year and a big part of their success.

20-1 is very generous and represented the public producing an inefficient market. Before the game was ever played and the result known, that 21 point line should have been closer to 10.

I had Virginia only winning by 7 points and a highly inefficient line would have been 15 points, but we saw more than 20. We saw a similar situation with Michigan State a couple of years ago.

Further, before this game #1 seeds were 135-0 against 16 seeds. Given the average win probability of what some would even consider efficient markets because a line is hung being a couple of percent, it's a wonder a 16 seed hasn't already won is so many tries. Considering the actual percentage is probably higher because these #1 seeds are out of whack for round 1, it's really a wonder it hasn't happened.

It probably "should" have happened a half a dozen times or so.

Doesn’t benefit the books to increase the ML numbers on the dogs - that’s why you shop around !!
