#37I found a local GA meeting, going to try to force myself to go. I certainly have nothing to lose by going. I hope I don't lose my job, can't believe the one customer in my entire area just happened to walk into that pallet in the minute I was gone. Leaving 4 work in about an hour wish me luck. Thanks for all the posts supporting me, it means a lot.Comment -

#39I don't remember writing my last post OP so please disregard it. Please go to GA it is obvious that gambling has ceased to be a hobby and has become a problem in your life. If you're looking to get into video games I can help you pick some good fun cheap games to get you started along with a recommended system. The value you can get today for dollars spent in entertainment value is amazing.
Getting back into the gym if you stopped working out is also a good strategy. Exercise increases serotonin levels which will in turn increase dopamine levels and that will lessen the "urge" you feel to gamble.Comment -

I should start playing basketball again but my friends don't play, I will have to try and find some people who do. I can't really seem to motivate myself to exercise by myself, which is pathetic I know.Comment -

#41Originally posted by OmgUrMomtk you for the encouragement, what video games/ system would you suggest?
I should start playing basketball again but my friends don't play, I will have to try and find some people who do. I can't really seem to motivate myself to exercise by myself, which is pathetic I know.
I suggest you start by going to a gym and if you can afford it, hiring a personal trainer. They will be most effective in transitioning you back into an active lifestyle if you have been sedentary for awhile. If you can't afford it still go to a gym to build a baseline activity level. If you can't afford that try being active outdoors doing something you enjoy(walking, running, hiking, biking, roller blading, ultimate frisbee, whatever as long as it is something)
If you can't find anyone to play b-ball with you i suggest you go to a college/university sports complex. Ask someone who works there for a timetable of gym free times and you will be guaranteed to find a pickup game during those hours. If you want something more stable go to a YMCA as they usually run recreational b-ball leagues.
As for the video games it really depends on personal taste. Without knowing your preferences a Xbox 360 is a good generic choice as it offers the most diverse breadth of gaming at a reasonable price. The most basic type of Xbox 360 is the Arcade and it is sufficient to play all retail games. They can be purchased new for $199.99 CDN but there is regularly sales that price them at $129.99 CDN (the price is roughly equivalent in USD)
The type of game you might want to play depends on what you like but here are some basic suggestions.
All for Xbox 360 all under $30.00 most under $20.00 used at any Gamestop store
Roleplaying game (Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Mass Effect)
First person shooter (Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena, The Darkness, Bioshock, Battlefield Bad company)
Action/Adventure (Assassin's Creed, Star Wars force unleashed, Lego games <---highly underrated/relaxing IMO , Grand theft auto 4, Brutal Legend)
Sports (Any 2009 title will be going cheap and is just as much fun at a 2010 title. I like NHL games TBH)
Strategy/Other (Civilzation Revolution, Mirror's Edge, Kameo Elements of Power, bully)
GL man i hope things work out for you.Comment -

#42mrmarket...solid post and recommendations. Ironically, a lot of guys at GA probably play those games (at least that has been my experience with knowing some who utilize the self-help scene)Comment -

#45sir, lets wipe this slate clean and skim a little, not a lot from this evil retailer you work for as we all know you are worth more than 9 an hour.
finally, CreditWagering.com worked for brock launders, and it could work for you depending on whether the butler decides to show up monday nightComment -
