        Great BRAND NAME.....................

        Fisher Metal Detectors

Fisher is the world's oldest metal detector manufacturer, started by Gerhard Fisher in the early 1930's. Dr. Gerhard Fisher designed the first metal detector which he named Metallascope, despite the name M-Scope.
Mr. Fisher continued his research and production of metal detectors, and established a reputation of high quality detectors to this date. Extremely durable, easy to use and very dependable are the key features of Fisher metal detectors. Backed by Fisher's lifetime warrantee you know they mean quality, when they say so.
One of Fisher's features is the option to disconnect the electronics box from the shaft of your detector and mount it on your belt, making it super light and easy to use for many hours.
        Note:
Not all models come with this feature, so be sure to check first.

i'm afraid if you buy 1k unit, you'd never recoup your expenses. spend the 1k on a good elliptical machine and you'll get great exercise and won't have dig around in the dirt.

A metal detector seems like an item that you could easily buy used for a very low price, why buy it new ? I doubt the technology has improved much in the last 5-8 years.
