Conditions are ripe for another football league

It's been tried unsuccessfully before, but in the current climate it could do really well. The silent majority would love an alternative to these whiny idiots.

Some legal retard first kneels during the anthem out of ignorance and a controlling vagina at home, then other homies join because they would get in trouble for wearing their pants around their knees on the field. So trump calls them out and there is a league wide circling of the wagons pushing a narrative of unity and turning the anthem into a commercial break cliff hanger.

Everyone around the nfl is so disappointed in the president's "divisive" statements, but dishonoring the flag and the national anthem over the complete lie of minority mistreatment by cops is just fine? Bunch of dishonest drama queen retards, the players, the owners, the announcers.

Give me another league on sunday of players who just want to play and aren't looking to make a scene over bull shit. Ill never watch nfl again. Lol the nfl fines players for wearing the wrong socks but doesn't want to do anything about this.

People are fed up meaning the majority of this nation with the behavior of certain football players.

I was thinking about this the other day. Would love for it to work out, but just don't know. I would try it during the spring like the USFL did, like Feb-June, and have the teams play on major campuses with plenty of seating, or in cities with indoor facilities. You could have teams in cities without franchises like Louisville, Syracuse, Lincoln, NE, Austin, Memphis, etc. Of course, you would need to get colleges on board, but who knows. Just thinking out loud.

    Yep very ripe

except for the TV contracts running thru 2022

but yeah if a group came up with like 900 billion dollars they might have a shot.

CFL, arena, and college will hold ya till then.

Maybe a USFL part deux in 2021 for Trump?

I think it needs to be done in competition with the nfl to give people who are mildly to very upset a way to still watch the sport they love but not support the nfl. Just removing sunday football is a lot to ask

With all the alternative media outlets these days, nfl tv contracts would be the least of the hurdles.

Didn't the arena football league give it a try a few years back? The franchises were tareting celebrities as owners like bon jovi

Seems like ur just being obtuse to waste time. Like there aren't vacant arenas and stadiums to play in or a means to relay content other than cable tv.

This is a much different climate. Many disgruntled fans would love an alternative now. Before startups were just trying for a leftover piece of the pie

The NFL CBA expires in 2020. The iron could be hot then to start something up because from what I've read, there is almost guaranteed a labor stoppage.

Would love this. I'm not sure how well it would do here though. Everyone is already a Bills, Jets, Giants fan with the Dolphins, Cowboys, and randoms thrown in. Cuse isn't a great football town unfortunately. Can't even get people to come for College. Plenty of towns it could work in though. Basically the rest you mentioned. People in Lincoln have nothing else to do, and love Football. Fill up the Midwest with teams.

It doesn't have to be good. It just has to air when the nfl airs to give former nfl fans some football and an easy out.

The league would have its best chance by allowing all 18 and 19 year olds to play, which will give teenagers the greater desire to make money than go to college and waste 2 years of their life.

People treat football like it's some kind of constitutional institution. Just a bunch of dudes playing grab ass and throwing a ball around.

Who really cares what they do when they don't have the ball in their hands.

JR smith can snort cocaine off an undocumented hooker while wearing an IRA ski mask and then shoot a polar bear and I couldn't give a fucxk so long as he can hit 3s.

A prison league could be very entertaining. There are more than enough aspiring athletes that just couldn't leave the hood behind and chose crime over attempting a career in sports.

All that's missing are 32 stadiums, a $5.1 Billion set aside for player wages, a tv contract with all the major networks, and a fan base. Other than that...

Can't see it happening. All these ex-players filing class action lawsuits because of alleged permanent brain injuries. These lawsuits are only going to continue even though players nowadays know the risks. Lawyers know the NFL will settle these suits because they are a thriving business and can absorb the costs. No new legitimate league can afford that cost (arena league is a joke league).

Was not President Trump somewhat responsible for the collapse of the last league? Can't remember the details.

A lot of people are bailing on football because brain injuries. I don't think it's anywhere never a good time for a new football league.
