I swear 98% of us lose, so why do we do it?

It hurts financially, it interrupts with social life and its just not healthy.
Why do we continue to do this when we don't win???

And I don't want people jumping in the thread saying, I don't know what your talking about man, I win. Check egos at the door because we DO NOT win doing this. We might win for periods of time, but longterm, we all get smoked.

I like the rush, and this is probably why most of us do it. Plus we can convince ourselves that we have an edge, even though most of us aren't capable of having a big enough edge plus proper bankroll management to make money at this.

So yea its for the rush.

Agreed, I suck and have shitty bankroll management, but the rush is what does it for me.

because money is disposable as long as you pay your bills and use gambling as disposable income.

In the end gambling is entertaining you all. You must pay for entertainment. And this gives you a chance to win doing it.

Because poker makes me want to punch windows sometimes and it's fun to flip coins as a beginner with the option of hopefully winning at 53%+ clip during tilt reduction moments over the long term if i put the time into it.

Gambling make me high, of course when you lose it hurts but trying to get the money back is even a bigger high.

I have a question - all of this "high" talk - is it the same if you are playing blackjack, or playing slots or throwing dice or anything?

Or does it have to be something like sports or poker or even the horses where you can convince yourself that you have an edge, or may have an edge?

How many times you going to make this thread?

Every month you have this epiphany and yet you go right back to it.

                          Seriously.

Wasn't he the same guy that went to Vegas with like $400 and almost went broke the first day he was there on a huge chalk play?

It is the reason I haven't posted up at a book in 6 months or so. The sickening feeling of losing.

I don't get that feeling at the casino but I play table minimums. I feel more comfortable doing that than having around a dime in a sportsbook account and doing something stupid and going broke.

I take to the casino a few hundred bucks that I don't care to lose and I'm happy with it.

no one wins all the time so it has to be about the "chase" .......how many times have people bet on a game just because its on and they say in threads'''''''''''oh I only put a small wager on it: translation...I cant help myself, Its the rush of the bet in progress and looking for the next play to add to profit or get back lost gains........

There has been times I've had to hit the sharks or pawn shop to pay the man... But I also have had weekends were I hit them so hard I would be car shopping on monday!

If you can't understand the game or the swing of things you have no business even playing! You'll never be a winner long term... Accept it and enjoy the good times

Because rather than being an alcoholic or a drug addict I prefer to have a habit that has potential to put money in my pocket

Everybody in this world has some type of addiction that they spend money on whether it be drugs, alcohol, gambling, shopping, home decorating/improvement, car collecting. Better to have a hobby that challenges your mind and has potential to give back

If so, you need to find a new hobby. You should always have a betting bankroll, that does not interfere with your personal finances, and bet with in that bankroll. No matter the size of it.

Plus. If you have to skip social events because you have to watch a game you bet on, then again, you need to move on from this. Truthfully, I would rather not watch the game I have a wager on. And never bet just because it is a TV game.
