He has a master's that he had to work his butt off for. He did that the old fashion way. He joined the Marines, served, got out, got a job and went to school so that one day he could do that.

Living off government assistance should not be considered a life style choice. And to some it is a career choice.

I agree that some people need the assistance and do not mind paying into that, but what bugs me are the ones who take advantage of the system therefore costing me a lot of money long term.

Not in the military, but it is a full time job with a salary and a large sign up bonus, which also offers many other benefits upon completion of your 4 year service such as medical benefits, college tuitions benefits and credit benefits.

If I am not mistaken marines make only a rough $30,000 a year with something like a $10,000 sign up bonus.

Glad I could buy his groceries for him so he could keep his cash for booze and cigs.
