Also a word of caution. I read an article a week ago that says people have planted a virus in these "killer whale death videos".

    Killer Whale Video Spreading Viruses
Hackers Exploiting Interest In Death Of Sea World Trainer

    UPDATED: 6:03 pm MST February 26, 2010

DENVER -- The IT and security firm Sophos is warning computer uses to beware of messages and Web sites that claim to show video or pictures of the death of killer whale trainer Dawn Brancheau.

Hackers have created Web pages stuffed with content that appears to be video footage of the trainer's death, but the sites are actually designed to infect computers.

Brancheau was killed when the 12,000-pound killer whale named Tilikum dragged her into its pool and thrashed the woman to death as audience members watched in horror.

"It's hard to believe that anyone would want to watch video footage of this horrible death, but it's currently one of the very hottest search terms on the Internet," said Sophos Senior Technology Consultant Graham Cluley in a news release.

"These poisoned pages can appear on the very first page of your search engine's results, and if you visit the links you may see pop-up warnings telling you about security issues with your computer. These warnings are fake and designed to trick you into downloading dangerous software or handing over your credit card details," Cluley said.

Scareware and fake anti-virus attacks like this have become an increasingly common weapon. They have been seen following the deaths of several high-profile individuals including Patrick Swayze and Natasha Richardson.

"You could argue that anyone hunting for footage of this horrific accident deserves everything that's coming to them, but the real sick ones here are the hackers who are trying to profit from the death of an innocent woman in a tragic accident," Cluley said.

They edited the video to show a shot of the isolated killer whale midway through to make it seem real.

Don't you people get it? It isn't the recent attack.

Here is the video minutes prior to the incident. Notice anything different?

Absolutely amazing, a random degenerate gambler recently thwarted the attack of a 10 ton killer whale with only his pocket knife! He held the whale at bay until officials arrived to tranquilize it!

                    Yes and who knows?

I don't know or think the op video is one that is affected. It was just a fyi.

The video is not of the recent attack though. I would bet my life on it. I mean the shot of the whale in isolation is real, but thats it.

I would agree. I meant to warn others doing a google or yahoo search and possibly loading one of the affected ones.

The actual attack lasted about 30 minutes until they got the whale to release her. Who knows when she actually passed away?

It took only two seconds for a killer whale to yank Dawn Brancheau down into the SeaWorld pool -- but up to 30 chaotic minutes before rescuers were able to free her lifeless body from the orca's jaws.

Chilling new accounts from eyewitnesses detail the desperate attempts of dozens of park workers, paramedics and others to save the trainer's life.

Investigators said the incident began calmly at about 1:30 p.m. last Wednesday, when about 50 guests were on a photo tour at the Orlando, Fla., park, watching through underwater glass at Shamu Stadium and waiting for the 6-ton star of the show to dive.

                                                Barcroft Media
SNATCHED: Dawn Brancheau, on the job at SeaWorld, was clenched by the hair in a killer whale's powerful jaws. "The whale would not let us have her," a witness said.
Brancheau was lying on a deck at the water's surface above them, face to face with the whale.

The photo guests were told the whale, named Tilikum but known to SeaWorld fans as Tilly, was "playing" with the trainer and was about to dive to give them a great snapshot.

"Suddenly, I saw the whale grabbing the trainer by the shoulder and pulling her down in the water near the window," said guest Susanne De Wit.

Others saw Tilikum seize Brandeau's hair.

"Within the span of two seconds, she was pulled into the pool, unable to get her hair released from his mouth," trainer-spotter Jan Topoleski, 32, recalled.

Topoleski sounded an alarm and grabbed safety equipment. Children in the photo group screamed and began to cry.

Sirens rang out for a "Signal 500," which warns that someone was in the water and desperately needed help.

Employees at other pools, behind computers or emptying coolers of fish, rushed to the horrific scene.

Shana Groves was in the trainer lounge "when I heard the G pool alarm go off. I ran straight to the net," grabbed a float line and joined in the rescue effort.

"It was scary," said De Wit, 33, a Dutch tourist. "He was very wild, with the trainer still in the whale's mouth. The whale's tail was very wild in the water."

As rescuers struggled to deploy one of the nets, Tilikum circled the pool, with Brancheau, 40, still held tightly in his mouth.

"The whale would not let us have her," senior trainer Jodie Ann Tintle told investigators.

Stacy Nichols, 40, realized she had to get the photo guests away from the underwater glass so they wouldn't see more of the tragedy unfolding. "Luckily, the pool was pretty cloudy, murky, so it was hard to see what was going on," she said.

Tilikum flailed his tail as workers managed to separate him from other whales, but failed to corral him with plastic nets.

"We attempted to pull the net across the pool but it was catching near around the rocks," said Jeremy Rippy, 40. "I could see that Tilly had Dawn in his mouth by the back collar of her wetsuit."

"Tilly was not giving up Dawn," said Robin Ann Morland, another SeaWorld worker.

Paramedic Tom Tobin recog nized how desperate the situa tion was getting. "I called for a [fire department] response to the scene," he said. "I also called for all available medics to come to the scene."

Witnesses said the situation got worse because, as Tilikum surfaced and dived, he got more and more agitated.

"He was becoming frantic him self," said Chahine Kish, who was cleaning tables in the poolside buffet called "Dine With Shamu" when she looked up and saw what was hap pening.

Suddenly, for a tantaliz ing instant, Tilikum re leased Brancheau.

But it was for mere sec onds, not long enough for rescuers to get her away. He then grabbed her again, this time by the foot, said worker Tanner Grogan, 27.

Another worker, Mark Barner, 23, said it seemed like 10 minutes before the rescuers got the heavy nets in place. Grogan said the entire rescue took 25 to 30 minutes.

The crew finally trapped the 22-foot-long whale in a smaller pool with a false bottom and lifted him out of the water. But that wasn't enough.

Tilikum still refused to unclench his teeth. The rescuers pried open his mouth -- twice -- during a two-minute struggle before he released Brancheau's arm, according to statements released by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

County firefighters arrived at SeaWorld within five minutes of getting a 911 call. They quickly cut off Brancheau's wetsuit and covered her with sheets.

But it was too late. Dawn Brancheau, who had fallen in love with killer whales when she visited SeaWorld as a girl, was pronounced dead on the deck by the pool.

Witnesses said she may have died much earlier in the struggle. "She did not look conscious any time I could see her," Grogan said. With Post Wire Services

These fukks should be sued for stupidity and negligence. Read the bold print.

ORLANDO, Fla. – A veteran SeaWorld trainer was leisurely rubbing a killer whale from a poolside platform when the 12,000-pound creature reached up, grabbed her with its mouth and dragged her underwater. Despite workers rushing to help, the trainer was killed.
Horrified visitors who had stuck around after a noontime show watched the animal charge through the More..pool with the trainer in its jaws. Workers used nets as an alarm sounded, but it was too late. Dawn Brancheau had drowned. It marked the third time the animal had been involved in a human death.
Brancheau's interaction with the whale appeared leisurely and informal at first to audience member Eldon Skaggs. But then, the whale "pulled her under and started swimming around with her," Skaggs told The Associated Press.
Some workers hustled the audience out of the stadium while the others tried to save Brancheau, 40.
Skaggs said he heard that during an earlier show the whale was not responding to directions. Others who attended the earlier show said the whale was behaving like an ornery child.
Skaggs left with his wife and didn't find out until later that the trainer had died. The retired couple from Michigan had been among some stragglers who stayed to watch the animals and trainers when the accident occurred.
"We were just a little bit stunned," said Skaggs' wife, Sue Nichols, 67.
Another audience member, Victoria Biniak, told WKMG-TV the whale "took off really fast in the tank, and then he came back, shot up in the air, grabbed the trainer by the waist and started thrashing around, and one of her shoes flew off."
Two other witnesses told the Orlando Sentinel that the whale grabbed the woman by the upper arm and tossed her around in its mouth while swimming rapidly around the tank. Brazilian tourist Joao Lucio DeCosta Sobrinho and his girlfriend were at an underwater viewing area when they suddenly saw a whale with a person in its mouth.
The couple said they watched the whale show at the park two days earlier and came back to take pictures. But on Wednesday the whales appeared agitated.
"It was terrible. It's very difficult to see the image," Sobrinho said.
Park officials confirmed that Tilikum grabbed Brancheau and pulled her in, drowning her.
Because of his size and the previous deaths, trainers were not supposed to get into the water with Tilikum, and only about a dozen of the park's 29 trainers worked with him. Brancheau had more experience with the 30-year-old whale than most. She was one of the park's most experienced trainers overall.
"We recognized he was different," said Chuck Tompkins, head of animal training at all SeaWorld parks. He said no decision has been made yet about what will happen to Tilikum, such as transferring him to another facility. SeaWorld has also suspended the killer whale shows at all of its parks, which also include locations in San Diego and San Antonio, to review procedures.
A SeaWorld spokesman said Tilikum was one of three orcas blamed for killing a trainer in 1991 after the woman lost her balance and fell in the pool at Sealand of the Pacific near Victoria, British Columbia.
Steve Huxter, who was head of Sealand's animal care and training department then, said Wednesday he's surprised it happened again. He says Tilikum was a well-behaved, balanced animal.
Tilikum was also involved in a 1999 death, when the body of a man who had sneaked by SeaWorld security was found draped over him. The man either jumped, fell or was pulled into the frigid water and died of hypothermia, though he was also bruised and scratched by Tilikum.
Brancheau's older sister, Diane Gross, said the trainer wouldn't want anything done to the whale because she loved the animals like children. The trainer was married and didn't have children.
"She loved the whales like her children, she loved all of them," said Gross, of Schererville, Ind. "They all had personalities, good days and bad days."
Gross said the family viewed her sister's death as an unfortunate accident, adding: "It just hasn't sunk in yet."
Dawn was the youngest of six children who grew up near Cedar Lake, Indiana. Her passion for marine life began at the age of nine, Gross said, on a family trip to Sea World.
According to a profile of Brancheau in the Sentinel in 2006, she was one of SeaWorld Orlando's leading trainers. Brancheau worked her way into a leadership role at Shamu Stadium during her career with SeaWorld, starting at the Sea Lion & Otter Stadium before spending 10 years working with killer whales, the newspaper said.
She also addressed the dangers of the job.
"You can't put yourself in the water unless you trust them and they trust you," Brancheau said.
Billy Hurley, chief animal officer at the Georgia Aquarium_ the world's largest — said there are inherent dangers to working with orcas, just as there are with driving race cars or piloting jets.
"In the case of a killer whale, if they want your attention or if they're frustrated by something or if they're confused by something, there's only a few ways of handling that," he said. "If you're right near pool's edge and they decide they want a closer interaction during this, certainly they can grab you."
And, he added: "At 12,000 pounds there's not a lot of resisting you're going to do."

Mike Wald, a spokesman for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration office in Atlanta, said his agency had dispatched an investigator from Tampa.
Wednesday's death was not the first attack on whale trainers at SeaWorld parks.
In November 2006, a trainer was bitten and held underwater several times by a killer whale during a show at SeaWorld's San Diego park.
The trainer, Kenneth Peters, escaped with a broken foot. The 17-foot orca that attacked him was the dominant female of SeaWorld San Diego's seven killer whales. She had attacked Peters two other times, in 1993 and 1999.
In 2004, another whale at the company's San Antonio park tried to hit one of the trainers and attempted to bite him. He also escaped.
Wednesday's attack was the second time in two months that an orca trainer was killed at a marine park. On Dec. 24, 29-year-old Alexis Martinez Hernandez fell from a whale and crushed his ribcage at Loro Parque on the Spanish island of Tenerife. Park officials said the whale, a 14-year-old named Keto, made an unusual move as the two practiced a trick in which the whale lifts the trainer and leaps into the air.
