You can not shoot an animal this big in a crowded outdoor arena. You would not kill it unless you fired a 50mm cannon and a ricochet off the water could end killing the spectators. What they need to do is attach an electrode on the animal and if it goes on a bender give it a massive shock. Not enough to kill the animal but enough to change its train of thought.

I agree that shooting the whale was not a viable option.
But something should have been planned and practiced before hand.
These attacks have happened b4. to have no game plan on how to save a trainer is a joke. The whale played with the guy for like 5 minutes while everyone just watched and waited for it to be over.

animal that size does not belong in captivity..sea world will tell you its for the better do you guys know how many miles a killer whale swims in a lifetime in the wild? just imagine being confined to your bed room for the rest of your life so some mutherfukers can by peanuts and pop corn and watch you do tricks

people are all suprised and in awe that a KILLER whale attacked someone.......How ironic an animal like that gets taken out of its natural habitat and it acts out like that....who would have guessed that something like that would happen... Its also really good they take safety measures when stuff like this happens I guess they really think they can control these big animals so there is not need for back up plans....People are dumb hahahahaha

This is like the Crocodile Hunter. The guy wrestles crocs and gators, plays with snakes and sharks, lions, tigers and people are shocked he gets killed swimming above a sting ray. She knew the risks with the job as well.


Lesson 1: be weary of swimming with a wild animal meant to be in the ocean but kept in swimming pool.

Seer this animal was known to have issues with humans.
It was involved in 2 or 3 deaths prior to this incident.
The woman was never supposed to be in the water with this animal.
Even more reason to have an emergency plan imo.

They shouldn't have animals this big in captivity and if the whale had issues with humans then they all should have refused to work with it. I'd have issues with someone too if they kept me in a closet and then made me do a trick for food.

I was only criticizing how it seemed as if everyone stood around in shock as the whale toyed with this woman for 5 minutes. Considering how the whale had killed before, u would think there would have been a worst case scenario plan of action in place.

If you're Seaworld you don't kill the whale, he's the star of the show. That will never be considered. Hate to say it but the humans are much easier to replace than the whale, a few casualties along the way is just the price of doing business.

I do think they need a plan to help get them out of the water just in case. They weren't prepared at all.

Sugolf , wow great video i just nominated you for the set up thanks it was hard to believe no one could hav e helped i swear on my mothers soul that day if i was there i would have jumped in with a knife and it was me or the whale the girl would have escaped those words are true may the dear lord shoot me down if im not telling the truth no way was i going to let a young kid die , i have lived my life my kid is grown , i would have gladly given my life as a stranger , if i knew her and worked with her i would have been in that pool in seconds, sorry i got very emotional .but one person should have come to her rescue.

I imagine the costs of having a human killed by a whale has got to be a high. Can't be good for the workmans comp rates either.

I find it hard to believe they do not have a non lethal way to distract the whale. A very simple shock collar would do the trick. Its possible that Sea World does not mind all the free publicity.

This is not the video. The day of the accident the trainers have a black wetsuit with the white spot on it, like killer whale colors. These people have black and red. Clearly you could see black and red and the trainer being tossed around in the video as well as other trainers.

The video I posted late Feb shows her moments before the attack. That is real video. It shows a black and white wetsuit.
