I used to think he was a punk gunner for hire. Shoot, shoot, shoot, and ask questions later. Now as I watch this guy, he is just the smartest, most fundamental basketball player that I have seen since MJ in his prime. Definitely an all-time great. I hope many of you realize this may be the greatest era of NBA superstars we have had EVER. Kobe, LBJ, KG, DWade, Dirk, Boozer, Bosh, Melo, Durant, CP3, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, DHoward, DRose, Rondo, etc. Enjoy it.
Has anyone else's perception of Kobe changed recently

#2I agree about Kobe. As far as your list of superstars. I would add Duncan, Steve Nash, and even Pau Gasol b/c of where he plays.Comment -

#5A few guys around the same age as Gay who i think have more potential; Josh Smith, Iguodala, Al Jefferson, David Lee, Brandon Roy , Al Horford, Danny Granger. I think some of those guys are 'next in line' for NBA stardom.Comment -

#9His comments on Allen (Celtics) after the game in Boston proved that he hasn't changed one bit. Punk."I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A little bird will fall dead, frozen from a bough, without ever having felt sorry for itself."

#20this is definitely as golden an age in talent as there's been since the MJ, Bird, Magic, Dominique Wilkins, Isiah Thomas days of the 80's... so many young studs in the league and then when John Wall makes the jump that's just one more name to add to the list. Kobe has definitely grown up big time, i'm a laker fan but i can acknowledge he was a brat in his early days and a jack even though he has good passing skills, his post game is insane right now and im waiting for his finger to heal cuz that has definitely killed his percentages some but kobe's the man nonethelessComment -

#29i have always liked Kobe from day 1...while i certainly cant claim the kid didnt have issues, he always had 1 undeniable thing that made it clear he would become the player he is now, a drive and work ethic second to none...You have that kind of ability mixed with that kind of drive and determination to be the best this is the stuff Legends are made of...Comment -
