so this is a dumb question but I have a 1 year old boxer..Stays outside and Never I mean Never steps foot inside..But its winter, not snowing but snow on ground from last few days...My question is, should I bring him in, I mean could he freeze to death or are dog equipped to physically be able to stand 30 degrees weather..

i will tell u this,have had boxers for 30 years and thet dont have the capacity to stay warm in cold temperatures.when my dog comes in after doing his business,he slides underneath my covers to stay warm.love boxersmwouldnt get anything other then them but there is alot of work for them,so dont abuse or neglect them,they will be faithful for the life of the dog

Yeah but, good point and all but Dogs wouldn't have had to go through all that mess man like developing hair if Man had not throughout time left them outside, abandoned them even on occasion altogether sometimes when times got tough or just even (some dogs) the human wanders away absentmindedly.....causing a dog lose track of him.

All dogs are decendants of wolves but they have been selectively bred by man. Some have two coats and some have one. Some can take cold temperatures and some can't. If you have a short haired dog they may get a little cold in 30 degree weather. I have two dogs and both have an inner coats and outer coats. The inner coat is more for insulation and the outer coat is more protection. They are just fine in 30 degree weather. As a matter of fact,they love it. They stay in the house but they play outside for extended times in cold weather. Most dogs by nature can take the cold better than the heat though.
