so this is a dumb question but I have a 1 year old boxer..Stays outside and Never I mean Never steps foot inside..But its winter, not snowing but snow on ground from last few days...My question is, should I bring him in, I mean could he freeze to death or are dog equipped to physically be able to stand 30 degrees weather..
Should I Bring my Dog inside.

#12Oh yeah Pavs... You sure about that. A 1 year old boxer who lives outside, I'm guessing under 50 pounds????
Does he have some sort of dog house at least???
If not do not be surprised to go outside to dead dog in the morning.Comment -

#13Bring him in.. People can survive outside sleeping in 30 degree's also, but that don't make it a good idea.. If you think he'll make a mess, lay down some paper and place him in your bathroom for the night and close the door.. If you have to ask if you should bring him in, then you know in your heart you should..Comment -

#23Originally posted by pacoI almost lost my life wen I was like 9 years old cuz of a fvcken dog. just last month, My nephew was waiting for his school bus and was chased by 2 dogs. Not that way in the burbs I promise. I love animals more than humans. If they are raised by animals then they don't know any better. Depends how they are raised.Comment -

#26yes dogs are only as good as who raised them. I can understand the people that have had bad experiences. they do bring alot of good and happiness to others. you even read in the papers how some wake their owners about a fire in the house, etcComment -

#31I have a 5 year old Boxer, and I can say that boxers don't tolerate extreme temps very well. They are not outside dogs, you would think because of their German descent they could handle cold weather. They are brachycephalic dogs which doesn't work well in hot temps, since they can't handle overheating. They also have short coats that don't insulate them enough for winter conditions. The dog doesn't have to always stay inside but they should not be left out for extended periods of time.Comment -

#32There's a reason during the billions of years of evolution that dogs developed hair, some more than others. Chihuahuas are almost hairless because they are the only dog species native to Mexico & they can be in that climate year round without much fur. Most dogs though have thick coats & internally are able to regulate their body temperature because they lack the opposable thumbs to cut wood, hold hammers, & build a house, so for millions upon millions of years this animals ancestors found a way to make it the BRUTAL 2 degrees below freezing. I'm not sure but I heard there's even dogs in Alaska & the Arctic, Greenland & Siberia. But I'm sure they all have owners that let them in at 30 degrees, 24/7 10 months of the year. I mean, there's no such thing as WILD undomesticated dogs anymore............is threre?????Comment -
