Why donate to Haiti fund?

The best way to help the homeless is to get them work. This weeds out the fair percentage who'd rather panhandle. I don't think there are any organizations on top of this goal, are there?

This is a personal choice. There is no right or wrong decision. I would not donate a penny to Haiti because there are much more pressing needs in our own country. A hungry child in Atlanta or Chicago is much more important to me than a hungry child in Haiti. Sorry, but those are my priorities.
