betting on something would display confidence...it is a free contest...that edge and "even odds" for a small favourite doesn't make sense...again...it is a free contest...if you like something and are willing to bet on it, would think it would be a no brainer to take it in the contest

I bet on dog MLs because I think they have a better chance than implied odds to win

I could think a +400 has a 28% chance to win and bet it, but why would I pick it on SftC? I only get one win if it's correct. Why would I pick a 28% chance over a 72% chance?

because it is a fricking free contest dude...obviously you think it has a chance to win so you bet on it...money is more important than a free contest...but if you go with a pick for money i don't really see the point not taking it with a free contest...and yes i understand implied odds....would make sense if it was for real money that you take the chalk at even odds...but again...FREE FUKING CONTEST...who cares about implied odds when it comes to a contest

I'm a lot more liberal about picking underdogs than yisman or lordswing, and my record usually shows it. I'm usually around 50%. yis and lordswing are usually 60+%. Of course to win this thing you're going to have to get lucky regardless. Like yisman has said before, most of the winners make a lot of stupid picks. But just because you have to get lucky doesn't mean you should purposely pick underdogs.

I'd pick Portland if I had a W1 or a losing streak though. Maybe 52% in my eyes.
