that ****in vid was stupid in too many ways. woman says "the fire alarm went off and for a minute i didn't know what to do." you didn't know what to do but she later said they had a plan in place and used it. I guess that plan involved letting her house burn down by delaying her reactions to everything. i could basically pick apart every sentence she said and point out how ignorant of statements she makes. but it is one of those cheap ass safety vids, kinda like the ones you have to watch at your job.

oh and pavy , alot of people have fireplaces but don't use them. could be cause of not having wood or upkeep on the fireplace/flue/chute.
i've rented places that were old and the landlord just had them filled in. could be many reasons. but nonetheless the vid was a joke anyway.

SAFE USE OF YOUR SPACE HEATER
        1. Read all manufacturer instructions to ensure you are using your space heater properly and efficiently.
        2. Be sure the space heater you are using is powerful enough to provide heat for the area you want warmed. Trying to heat too large a space with a heater not capable of putting out that much heat can cause your heater to work too hard and become over heated.
        3. Avoid the use of extension cords, and plug the heater directly into a socket. If you must use an extension cord be certain it is a heavy duty one, made specifically for such appliances, such as one you would use for an air conditioner.
        4. Check the plug and cord to ensure they aren't hot while the space heater is in use. A hot plug should be unplugged

don't use them personally but know someone whose apartment caught on fire and he got burnt badly on his arm in the process. i don't know the dude's roommate and forgot the story but the guy who got burnt is one very smart fellow so i believe he knew of the danger and or told his roommate about it so it's not like some ignorant guy caused the fire (i'm thinking". this leads me to believe that even for responsible ppl the mini heaters are dangerous
