however poutine > onion rings anyday, poutine is the shizzle. im from toronto and there is this place downtown called "smoke's poutinerie" which is amazing! they got, pork, beef, chicken poutines etc. place is always packed.

yes, but how many eat it with mozzarella cheese on it. that's the main quebecois ingredient in the poutine.

fries, gravy and cheese.. i doubt any americans are dumb enough like the quebecois to put mozzarella cheese in their fries..

the frenchies must've figured out that gravy and fries aren't fattening enough, so they added the fatty cheese, too.

In New Jersey we call them Disco Fries (Fries covered in sliced American cheese then covered in gravy)

Back to the original thread.... if the rings are home made, I much prefer them to fries. However I would always have Mary Browns Taters given the choice of a side.
