Lesnar officially coming back. Somehow Mir put on 25 pounds of muscle in a couple months, so he should be able to give Brock a better fight. Can't wait for Mir-Lesnar 3.

Does this mean you favor Mir against Carwin (which is perfectly fine, I'm just curious). If so, when would Mir's line stop holding value to you?

I imagine Shane will go into the fight with a game-plan similar to the one Brock used against mir, considering that Carwin and Lesnar have a similar wrestling background and have a bit of a size advantage over Mir.
Right now, i doubt Carwin will be able to pull the plan off as effectively as Brock. Carwin really only has 1 high-quality win, which was a flash knockout of Gabriel Gonzaga. He might even decide to keep the fight on the feet for fear of getting tapped. If they stand, Mir has the technical advantage, Carwin has the power.

With all that said, it's kinda hard for me to see Shane Carwin winning this fight. He just doesn't have the experience or the resume.
I'm still not sure where the line would stop holding value for Mir. I couldn't say until closer to the fight.

I agree with Tree. Carwin's only high profile win was against Gonzaga and he nearly was knocked out. I have a hard time seeing Carwin hanging with Mir especially if Mir takes it to the ground. Lesnar has a press conference scheduled next week with Dana White so hopefully we will know more about his status then. Word is he is definitly coming back but may not be until 2011.

I'm starting to lean this direction too. Mir is really motivated to get back to Lesnar and from what I've read he watches a lot of tape and researches his opponents thoroughly. I just wish I knew how both fighters will fair in later rounds (Mir with his extra 25 lbs of muscle and Carwin, who has never been to the later rounds).

Not the most hated WWE character, but might be one of the most hated UFC wrestlers for his lack of respect towards opponents, sponsors, etc. He has always been "for real", having a serious wrestling resumé. He became very ill (you can Google it for more detail) so it's good to see him getting healthy.

I hope his corn feed ass stays out of the ring. Its time for new faces..He always reminded me of fake WWE etc from back in the day..Kinda gave UFC a spoiled look almost..for me anyways.

the heavyweight division in the ufc needs lesnar... who else sells tickets/ppv? carwin, noguiera, mir?? I was really hoping to see Lesnar/Carwin fight.

Even if Lesnar comes back, Will he be the same? I really hope he comes back full strength the heavyweight division needs a villain and Brock fit that role perfectly; Without Lesnar the division loses it's luster I don't wanna see Carwin vs Nog or Mir vs Nog 2 or even Cain vs Mir for the Unified title if Lesnar doesn't come back all of those fights seem like a battle for 3rd place.

Going to hard to put that weight back on without steroids. Will be interesting to see how the odds makers figure his sickness and weight loss into the lines.
