Abe, exactly how old were you when Madonna was crooning that old romantic standard "Like a Virgin"? Writhing on stage in a wedding dress...

I'll even give you that one as a "romantic" song. Can you name 2 others? Can you even name 2 other Madonna songs period? Don't cheat either. I know you are a skeaky old curmudgeon.

Abe I'll tell you what the Dalai Lama himself - 12th son of the Lama - told me when I caddied for him one time on a course over there in the Himalayas. By the way, big hitter - the Lama....long.

So anyway...we finish 18, and he's gonna stiff me!

So I say "Hey! LAMA! How 'bout a little somethin'...you know....for the effort?"

And he says, "Oh...ahh.... There won't be any money. But when you die....on your deathbed.... you will receive total consciousness."

So you got that going for you Abe.

          Which is nice.....

I will confess ,this decade was so mixed with pleasure and emotion, music wise,it definitely influenced me romantically . [and yes,I lost]

Now this MY opinion ,yet I am sure their were ,or are now, million's that will agree with me on this answer .

I have a two part question following .

                  1. What decade am I talking about..worth nothing unless you get part two correctly .
                  2. What singer had not only the most spectacular song's from this decade, and maybe, the most 1 hits also ?[just guessing on that last one ]

The "FIRST" two correct answers get the 10 points, and only ONE guess each .[no ghosts allowed either]
I will have to leave shortly,so I will not check back tonight until around 10pm,maybe even midnight, to see if anyone won ?

And no more GRIPPING from losers ,got it ?
Okay,I am back to prove a point, that, " the younger generation, whom are so further advanced mentally and education wise, that they see older citizens like ,yours truly, are just simply Neanderthal's from the stone age ?
Here is an example of their "narrow minds".
Look at this above contest and tell me where I stated anywhere MADONNA was the "most romantic" singer of the 80's , that Cap said I did ?
I stated ,MADONNA was the most "acclaimed singer of the 80's" ,and probably had the most # 1 hits too ?
That is only a "probability", not stated as FACT .
That decade ,I claimed ,did in fact have the most romantic singers though, in MY solid opinion.
Sure ,I could name a dozen that were better "romantic" singers than than material girl.
Not now,I just want to prove again what young foolish members we have here on SBR !

Abe, I may not have quoted you exactly right in the post you are referring to, but your words above is what I meant, you were talking about "ROMANTIC" music (which makes most people think of Barry White, or Marvin Gaye, or Frank Sinatra, smooth crooners who have certain romantic appeal) and then you gave us Madonna... The Material Girl's music was just catchy dance songs, not "romantic". And by her OWN ADMISSION, she was never a "talented singer".

Why do you keep pursuing the same arguments??

Because ,I want to see yourself as you are,not real good at facing the "music" when you GOOF !
Now go back and try one more time and attempt to comprehend the "two part" question !

And,yep ,you are again in denial .
