First off, playing a single line VP machine at 750 hands per hour(the rate at which I play), I will hit a Royal Flush appoximently every 55 hours of play if the chances of hitting a Royal on a particular machine are approximently 1 in 40,000 which is the case on the majority of machines I play.

Now throw in the fact that many times I play triple-play, five-play, and ten-play machines and the rate of hitting one every 55 hours is even smaller.

...........I have hit MULTIPLE ROYALS on the multi-play machines several, several times over my VP career(a few dealt!)........and by the way, I'm only counting that has ONE royal hit when I state I've hit well over 300.


By the way son, nobody, and I mean nobody, on this site has played more video poker in a live casino then me.........nobody!

VP pros can play over 1000 hands an hour. And those are a dime a dozen. Even little old ladies are doing it.
I remember several years ago when Imperial Palace offered triple points at .5% cashback. With some of the games available you were playing with a 1.4% edge.

The place was a madhouse. At least three dozen pros pounded this place around the clock. At least up to $5 ($25) a hand machines were available. I thought I could play fast but some of these guys were truly impressive. One guy would smack the buttons with his palm whenever possible. 1500 hands an hour is possible for some of these guys.

Needless to say they canceled not only the triple points after several days, but changed over all the pay tables. To this day there's no vp machine there over 98%.

At THE RESERVE CASINO in Vegas was playing a specific promo and was playing $1 five-play Double Bonus ......put in what was something like a 14-16 hour day and lost $7,900.

Came in the following day and all the five-play machines were occupied so took a seat at one of the remaining $1 triple play machines and within the first 30 minutes was dealt a Royal for $12,000.

Simply stated, on a SINGLE draw machine one will hit a royal flush every 45-65 hours, depending on the speed of the player and the machine itself.

On a TRIPLE draw machine, a player will hit a royal flush 3.0-4.0 times more often then on a SINGLE draw machine, again depending on the speed of the player and the machine itself.

By the way, I can understand how you may think my hitting 300+ royal flushes is an "embellished" number, but I assure you it is not........like I've stated, I've played thousands upon thousands upon thousands of hours of video poker..........and roughly 25% of those hours comprised playing multiplay machines. It would be hard for me to determine exactly how many royals I've hit on just SINGLE line machines, only because I've played so many hours over my lifetime.
