He says all bets must be posted before listed time. The listed time on a 2nd quarter wager is the start time of the game, therefore betting 2nd quarters after the start of the game would result in the bets being voided. That would be my interpretation at least.

well exactly, that's your interpretation, but dtp asked him if it's ok to make the bet once the 1st quarter is done and he said yes...check out dtp's november 1st post to mexicanstallion

You are all right though. It appears DTP was up to no good, he was taking a shot at Mex. But confiscating the wagers is the wrong response, voiding them is correct. Even as Durito exclaims these bets would be voided at any book, they would be voided not taken.

I agree, it is pretty common knowledge that 2nd 1/4 must be posted by the start of the game (unless you use in game lines which he appears to not be doing).

I agree that voiding is the proper response. However, I also think all bets of this manner made in the past should be voided, such as yesterday's when dtp won about 400 from Mex. Since I don't think that will get settled up, I think it would be fair of Mex to just keep today's bets.

yeah i agree it might appear that way, but how is he "up to no good" if he specifically asked mexicanstallion about betting at the end of the quarter and he said yes?

Again taking the other side just for argument sake (thats all I ever do). The bets formally processed as winners should not be backed out.

Once you give something to someone doesn't it become theirs? Would you want your sportsbook clarifying the rules and keeping your voided bets b/c you "beat them" previously?

Shouldn't the business bear the burden of catching this every day w/o being able to reach back infinitely into the past should they discover wrongdoing?

Since we will never know whether this is a genuine misunderstanding or out and out fraud by the bettor, i think he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Just the other side... Don't really know which I agree with anymore.

Juni, I don't know, I really don't. But I think most people w/ some sense of how bookmaking/business works would be able to surmise that betting a 3rd 1/4 w/ 30 secs left in the second would be disallowed.

As an aside, from a business/marketing perspective (purely personal insight here) if I were Mex I would void the bets, take the loss, ban the scrub and move on. Part of the cost of doing business is taking some losses, learning from it and moving on as quickly as possible w/o incident...

Just my $4.62.

yeah taking my bets away from previously paid winners would be flat out ridiculous.. williams obviously has been sucking mex's dick because he is a complete idiot if he thinks that would be fair..
how the hell is no one aside from juni taking into consideration that i SPECIFICALLY ASKED mex if i could place a wager on the 2nd quarter AFTER the first quarter was OVER and he said YES.. that is obviously trying to find out, by asking the book himself, the specific listed time the bet should be made. so i was making sure that i WASN'T cheating.

but yet i'm doing something wrong???????????????

I just mean if he sees fit. He should ban whoever he wants, it's his operation and just like a casino they can refuse your business for any reason whatsoever.
