Against all but a couple teams in the NFL, PUNTING is the right decision........but not against the COLTS on their turf the way they had been moving the ball better and better as the game wore on.........due to them getting smarter and the NE defense getting tired.

The PATS should be criticized 3x more for wasting their timeouts then their decision to go for it on 4th and 2..................

Going for it on 4th and 2 in that situation is not that big of deal...........it's a 50-50 call for any GREAT COACH!!!!!

I only wish that some of Bill's go for the win attitude would have rubbed off on Kirk Ferentz who worked with Bill as an assistant in the NFL...............

If Bill was JUST making in-game decisions for the Hawkeyes the past two years, they would have been undefeated last year AND this year................FERENTZ IS A HORRIBLE IN-GAME COACH.

But one has to factor in the PATS icing the game by making two yards.

Whether this was a bad or good call is BEING WAY OVERHYPED.........NOT THAT BIG OF DEAL.

Well, I see some of the math guys are backing you up here Fishy so maybe my initial reaction was wrong. It still feels like a really dumb move to me, but what do I know?

It seems like the ones using math to support the call are just assigning whatever values they want to their equation to make it fit though. I haven't seen anybody use actual concrete statistics to justify this yet, just guesses at what the percentages for each scenario would be. Not sure how scientific that really is.

Look, BILL knows his personel 10x better then any of us armchair quaterbacks...............I think the call is being blown way out of proportion only because MOST all coaches punt in that situation and it is the easy way out for then so they don't have to face the media blitz if it fails.

By the way, I've played poker with DILFER on a few occassions........GREAT GUY.

However, I've had to set him straight on a few football issues after I went off the handle a few times on him to get my point across to him, pretty sure he thinks I'm a nut job.

In fact, at the same table was Shawn King and I had him rolling in laughter when I was setting Dilfer straight on a few issues.
