    my WSOP bets...
I made a few small bets on on yes/no props but avoided the future pool props as juice is of course absurd... My bets here are 90% for entertainment and to have something to sweat so you are probably better off not following any of my recommendations...

Earlier I took James Akenhead at +130 to last longer then Antoine Saout at bodog for the max (yea, $50, but I don't get to say I bet the max very often ) Both are the short stakes but still have some play (~28 and 39 BB respectively)... Also all the players toward the bottom should be looking to get chips as the prize pool is actually very flat towards the bottom (see below) so I wouldn't be surprised if Akenhead isn't even the first one to get called all-in as there shouldn't be much incentive to try and move up a few spots initially... Akenhead has also had some previous success and clearly the more experienced player so, given the plus money, I thought it was a okay spot to take a shot...

I also unwisely took Darvin Moon at -250 against Ivey at bodog awhile back but there is now a much better price available at Matchbook and pinnacle today (-160ish) so I hit up Moon again heads up against Ivey at matchbook... I think there is value here because Moon has said he wants to move up (and could probably not play a hand and easily finish 3rd or 4th) but I expect Ivey to gamble early because he clearly is only playing to win and is currently relatively short in chips to make a deep run... Clearly Ivey is the better player but I think the public is overvaluing the skill vs. luck factor of a name player against the unknown....

BTW, betting Ivey heads up at bodog against Moon at pinnacle/matchbook (+200/-170) would provide a big scalp but obviously the $50 limit kindof limits the potential on this ...

I also took a small position against Ivey winning at -600 at matchbook.. Again I think the public is way over valuing Ivey's skill against the luck factor involved in poker and also overlooking his short starting stake...

Any prop bet on Ivey is going to be overvalued. He is the best player but has such a long ways to go. Jeff Shulman is a solid pro and has a decent chip stack. I'd throw a little prop bet down on him if bodog didn't close their betting this morning.

The huge break brings in an interesting dynamic. Now players like Shulman and Ivey have had months to scout these lesser known players where as normally they'd have to find out what type of player they are by sitting at the table and playing out hands with them.

I was thinking of making a couple wagers on it. I just didn't see anything that made me want to bet it....

My brother was telling me to take Joe Cada at 15-1. I guess he's a pretty good online player or something. Probably should have listen to him, looks like he's one of the three remaining now.

Looks like Cada will be heads-up with moon w/ a big chiplead once they start. I'll have to avoid family gatherings for awhile.

Oh I think moon has the patience to beat the fast pace of Cada it looks to be a fun one to watch. I am 100% behind moon I don't think Cada will take him due to the style difference. But man to be Moon and have at least a 2nd place finish at the first big event he played is awesome.

Moon is going to get worked...... Nice guy but experience makes a difference unless he hits crap like he did when he bounced Ivey.

It didn't end up to bad for day despite Akenhead tripled up early before running kings into aces, quickly going back to the short stake, and being first out... In the end the luck of poker won out with Ivey losing a key race and then getting sucked out on holding A-K, leading to a small profit for me the day... I listened to alot of the broadcast on Sat night/Sun morning and I have a lean tonight... Even though I doubt anyone in their right mind would follow my selections, I'm going to wait to post till I bet as there isn't much liquidity on matchbook at the moment and I don't like the spread/juice I'm seen at the U.S. facing books I've seen offering odds on the heads-up match...

Cada is boys with a guy I work with. Unreal. Said kid used to play cards in lunch room and he wasn't even that great. Guy stepped his game up.

Read this on Moon earlier... Interesting thing to be doing at 5 in the morning when your going to playing poker for millions of dollars for 16-17 hours later that day...

There's also a great story about Moon and Schaffel again. As mentioned yesterday, Moon was playing the Texas hold 'em pit game against Schaffel's sister. This morning, Jordan Schaffel, Kevin's brother, was up at 5:15 a.m. PT and went downstairs to kill some time since he couldn't sleep. Jordan headed to the Texas hold 'em pit game and saw Moon again! So what did he do? He called his brother. Kevin, whom Jordan said was up very, very early this morning, came down and he played with Moon. As if that wasn't entertaining enough, Moon continued his pit dominance by hitting a straight flush with 3s-5s! He is still running better than ever.
