I made a few small bets on on yes/no props but avoided the future pool props as juice is of course absurd... My bets here are 90% for entertainment and to have something to sweat so you are probably better off not following any of my recommendations...
Earlier I took James Akenhead at +130 to last longer then Antoine Saout at bodog for the max (yea, $50, but I don't get to say I bet the max very often
) Both are the short stakes but still have some play (~28 and 39 BB respectively)... Also all the players toward the bottom should be looking to get chips as the prize pool is actually very flat towards the bottom (see below) so I wouldn't be surprised if Akenhead isn't even the first one to get called all-in as there shouldn't be much incentive to try and move up a few spots initially... Akenhead has also had some previous success and clearly the more experienced player so, given the plus money, I thought it was a okay spot to take a shot...
I also unwisely took Darvin Moon at -250 against Ivey at bodog awhile back but there is now a much better price available at Matchbook and pinnacle today (-160ish) so I hit up Moon again heads up against Ivey at matchbook... I think there is value here because Moon has said he wants to move up (and could probably not play a hand and easily finish 3rd or 4th) but I expect Ivey to gamble early because he clearly is only playing to win and is currently relatively short in chips to make a deep run... Clearly Ivey is the better player but I think the public is overvaluing the skill vs. luck factor of a name player against the unknown....
BTW, betting Ivey heads up at bodog against Moon at pinnacle/matchbook (+200/-170) would provide a big scalp but obviously the $50 limit kindof limits the potential on this
...
I also took a small position against Ivey winning at -600 at matchbook.. Again I think the public is way over valuing Ivey's skill against the luck factor involved in poker and also overlooking his short starting stake...
