That could cost the Yankees. I'm not really clear about this but some pitchers struggle on 5 days rest, right? If there's a game 7 Sabathia could be off because of that.

He'd be pitching on his normal 4 days rest. If you wait for another day the chances are greater that things can go wrong, at least according to my understanding.

When he pulled Nate Robertson for another RHP he lost all credibility in my eyes. Girardi makes moves to make moves. "Hey look at me, I'm the manager and I make moves lulz!!!!111".

The problem is if he loses the game they go to game 7 without their best pitcher and you don't want Pettite/Lackey in an elimination game.

Because if they win without CC, he can start game 1 of the world series. If they were to start CC and lose, all momentum and confidence would be with the Angels and the Yankees would be fuked. Its best to keep CC for game 7, that will be in the back of the Angels minds that even if they win game 6, CC is waiting for them. The best move is to sit CC and hope to win game 6. If not then they will pull CC out and move on to the finals.

Lots of variables in play here with the rainout. Start CC game 6 and he does not start game 1 of WS. I think Petite has much of a shot at winning tomorrow as CC. Petite has been there done that and is more proven in October. Remember that CC has been crushed in previous Octobers and I think its the realing Angels that is partially to give credit to for making him look good in the ALCs.

Burnett pitched the other day. Plus he has been on edge when he pitches. Too bad that he doesn't work well with Posada as he brings more experience to the table.

You are right in the sense that he didn't show up in the first inning of game Five...And you have to remember that Girardi has seen Andy do well in this situation so many times before.

Remember what happned to CC last time he did multiple 3 day rest starts vs the Phillies.....I am sure he does. But it is still the smart move to try and get him into 3 games if they get to the Series. So they have to go with Petite and try and close tonight...he is clutch.
