why is the Saints offense so potent ?

brees, shockey, and colston are the obvious names who are incredible players, but it's the younger wideouts that are stepping up and giving brees too many options to look for. also, the saints D is so much better that they are stopping the opponents run gm which means less clock spinning and more offensive possessions for the saints so they get to put up more pts

they miss former defensive coordinator schwartz (now coaching the lions), DT haynesworth (now w/the redksins), and both of their starting corners are hurt, not having cortland finegan really hurts

haynesworth took up 2-3 o-lineman and let the pass-rushers do their thing as well kept guys off of bulluck, this allowed the safeties to stay back and double opponents wr's making the defense incredibly strong last yr

also, new DC chuck cecil has a different style that the players have not quite bought into yet

probably at the end of the season. in the nfl, for some reason, they don't like to fire coaches midseason. obviously much different from college where coaches are let go midseason all the time. my guess is he'll last the season before he's gone. if they were gona fire him, this wk would have have been the time right after the KC loss

The Eagles didn't look too alive or too well in Oakland last Sunday. Could a visit to equally lowly Washington mean more of the same?
