#72ITS VERY CONFUSING TO ME FOR ANY1 2 BE COMPARING THIS GM TO THE INDY GM LAST NIGHTmia is a much better team than ten and the jets are not on indys level. yes the jets d is strong yes ryan is a good coach but as much as every1 saying that mia cant run on nyj i cant see a jets run gm that is averaging what 2.5ypc? doing much against mia d either if anything id say between the 2 mia run gm clearly is the better matchup against jets d. jets will struggle tryin 2 run and im not ready 2 proclaim sanchez as the next great thing just yet. this looks to me like a classic slugfest w neither team getting out of the teens. i am also not sold that pennington being gone really hurts mia henne more than capable of managing the gm and if anything brings more to the table for d's 2 worry about as he can throw the ball further than 30yrds. only reason pennington started year as starter is because the sence of loyalty mia feels 2 him for helping turn the franchise around. i will be teasing this gm to mia+9 and und42 also be playing mia ml 4 half a unit

#73Originally posted by riggsSome thoughts on tonights game,
- the public is on the Jets for good reason, they're a much better football team
- the Jets are more balanced and more talented than Miami in nearly every facet of the game
- Miami with Penington is a competitive 8-8 team, not great, but competitive
- people tend to forget how good of a QB Chad Penington has been, he's one of the most accurate passers and best game managers in recent history! That's a big loss, my friends.
- the Jets are talented enough to man up against Miami's WR's
- Miami has yet to play a stout defense that can tackle, nor have they played a team with a solid running game. SD, IND, ATL, & BUF are all mediocre at best if not out right soft defensively and not one of those teams runs the ball very well.
- Miami is not the crazy atmosphere people are making it out to be, nor is their fan base what it used to be. The demographics of that city and surrounding area have changed faster in the last 10-20 years than any other city on the east coast. Hispanics, generally speaking, don't give a s*** about American football.
- Public fade? Why is everyone on this forum so f***ing focused on who the public likes? Who gives a s***? Break down the game yourself and make the strongest pick you can from there. Never bet on inferior teams just because 80-90 percent of the public is on the favorite. If you truly like the dog bet them, but not just to fade the public, that's idiotic and insane.
- In order for Miami to win tonight, they need several things to happen. They must win the turnover battle, they must run all over the Jets front seven, they must tackle better in the open field, they cant let up the big play, they have to play great on special teams, and they cant give the Jets a short field. Tall order!Comment -

#74Just wondering if you guys even know what a "trap" is. If you do, and if you follow the wagering line history, you will see that this game is anything but a trap. Having been associated with people who set the lines, and wiseguys who set all kinds of "traps", "bait and switches" and other little tricks to take your money from you, if a game is a legitimate "trap", you guys will not know it until you lose. If my guys decide to trap all of you, do you think we would make it obvious? Now please do not go on and on about who the public is on, because it does not matter. Don't try to tell anyone that you know where the money is going, because no book inVegas would ever release that info, and if any offshore book does, they are either lying, or crazy. The public has totally misused the term "trap". This is NOT a trap. Just take your pick. The game is not worth a wager, but it is Monday Night, and this is how the books make money. They get JoePub to wager on a game because many of you are addicts and have to have action if the game is on T.V, and is the only game in town.Comment -

- "Only" 3 points
- Everyone is fascinated with Sanchez, big, big # 1 # 5 overall draft choice
- Everyone has bought in to Coach Ryan and his defensive wonderfullness
- It is NEW YORK, so you hear so much more about them
- Miami is, uh, boring; win with "D" and run game
- Everyone saw home dog Tennessee get taken apart by Colts last night at home, so line went to "3"

#76Originally posted by SerboneMissing the issue entirely. It is not the temperature. It does not matter where you played college fotball.
It is about electrolytes.
When you have been in NY for months and you travel to Miami on Sunday for a Monnday game and it is 85 degrees many players will get tired and even cramp up whereas the players who have been there do not as often, their bodies have adjusted. Happens every year. Look at the Oklahoma vs. Miami college game this yr... Oklahoma folded like a cheap lawnchair. You can do some maintenance hydration and electrolyte IV therapy but it only helps a little.
MIAMI + 3!
Did he just say Electrolytes?
Man say whatever you must to convince yourself Miami wins. But isn't that what Gatorade is for?
anyways Jets cover easily. And living in Ny as I do it is not exactly -20 here that last couple of weeks.
NFL players know how to handle these conditions seriously ....Comment -

#77Originally posted by daneblazerDunno about that. Miami got their ass kicked in that game. They also had Pennington in the other games and Buffalo sucks. Jets are the better team here...Miami is going to need the ball to bounce their way a few times to win.Comment -

#81this game is a key divisional matchup, that's why the spread is so low.
I really wish everyone would stop using the word "TRAP" cause it's annoying.
go back and look at all the posts from Sunday night FB who claimed INDY ONLY -4.5 ?!?!?! GOTTA BE A TRAP! TAKE THE TITANS WHO NEED THIS HOME VICTORY!! how'd that pan out?
seriously, come on....Jets have not allowed a single touchdown (rushing OR passing) to the pats with brady, saints with brees, or the texans at home (watch some highlights from sunday)
so, essentially you're saying Chad Henne and the fins will accomplish what these 3 prolific offenses could not? because the public loves the jets?!?!?!
there is alot of non-handicapping going on it seems here....Comment -

#83This game will be like the colts game last night. Public thinks titans and dolphins have to win at some point and see this low lines against premiere teams and go opposite way. Jets win this game by 10+ Henne is going to have defenders in his face all game long and will fold under pressure.
Rookie starting QB+1st MNF game+Rex Ryan+NY coming off a loss=Big victory for the JetsDouble Up. Hit em in the head.Comment -

And yes I am aware this is also Sanchez's first MNF game and he is also a rookie starting qb, but you cannot compare his talent or surrounding players to Henne's.Double Up. Hit em in the head.Comment -

#94Lets go back. Miami backers keep mentioning the Indy game. Indy couldn't stop the run to save their lives. Thats why they only had the ball for a quarter. They STILL managed to win the game......thats not saying much about the dolphins. Now with Pennington out, they dont even have a proven accurate quarterback to control the game, which is all Pennington had to do. On top of the fact that the Jets have a very good defense, I can see a defensive battle going down tonight. Jets still come out on top, my guess is by 7 to 10 points.
Jets -3 and the Under both seem like good bets.Comment -

Now who is laughing?I tried to explain that gatorade is not enough; NFL trainers are aware but cannot completely overcome this problem. Did you see your powerful Jets get run over for the final winning drive? Exhausted.
What, are you still in school sonny, lost $ 22 on your $ 20 bet on the Jets? Go to class, learn about electrolytes.Comment -
